They can take away the life of any being once they trap them in their circle of red lightning and dark suffocating clouds.

Eventually, when the original body becomes too weak, the shapeshifter takes complete control of it, and they can do anything they want, until the original body dies," Edmont said. The shape cruises away, and as it does I can see that it looks like a boat, flying through the sky as though it is the sea. It requires a couple of moments after the boat vanishes for me to acknowledge what I had done.

Roan stands still and looks at me from head to toe. ''Considering what Julias told me about your magic I think you should be able to shapeshift into a water creature. Maybe we can try a mermaid, just think about what you want to look like. Picture everything from the breathing gills to the tail. When you have the image just say Shapolo'' I look at him a bit doubtful, but I say, ''Okay let's give it a try.'' I think about a long green shimmering tail, a small glitter top and I picture that I have gills on the sides of my neck. I say with a loud and confident voice, ''Shapolo.''

What else is bad news?” I sounded exasperated. “Well it consists of more…much more training to control and use magic…”

I can feel the heat surrounding me, filling the room with energy and light. The Shifters stare at the shape, their red eyes piercing the light with its darkness. After a second, they all begin to enter the form, taking it on board as if they were all in line to enter a cruise and embark on a magical journey. Amazement still overwhelms me as each of the Shifters enters the form. I can feel it pulling at me, and I hesitantly let go. The shape moves away, and I can see that it really does look like a boat, flying through the sky as if it were the ocean. It takes me a few seconds after the boat disappears to realize what I had done.

I inquired, offering her a sense of control amidst the chaos. "Shift back, please. But how?" Panic tinged her voice, betraying her fear of the unknown. "Relax first. Clear your mind and visualize yourself in your human form. Focus on your hair, your skin, your legs," I instructed, guiding her through the process with patience and reassurance. "It may be a bit painful to shift back for the first time, but with time, the discomfort will fade."

Alan stood there, icy and aloof, gazing down at me. "I told you, you can't run from me. I'll always find you." His voice was icy, emotionless. "You're a perfect heart match for Jessica. There's an organ donation form here. Sign it." I stared at the form, terror gripping me. Memories of a previous life, signing a similar form and then being struck by a truck, flooded my mind. The agony of shattered bones seemed to echo in my body. I shook uncontrollably, teeth gritted, forcing out the words, "No way. Not happening!"

The fur part of the armour gradually expanded to cover her entire armour and being. Although it felt like it lasted for a few seconds, it had only taken a split second.

“Breathe, Akiro, breathe.” Akiro flushed in embarrassment as he realised he had just rambled towards Terrence, but the guy was just looking at him in amusement. “Sorry, I just got really, really curious,” he said. “Again, it’s alright,” the shapeshifter said, brushing off his apology. “And to simply answer your questions: we can only change if it’s a living being we’re shifting to. No need to touch or chant something. Just as long as we know what they looked like. Though we can miss a few details because it wasn’t like we could look at someone else’s whole features. Just the surface.”
