Scarlett cried, before sniffing her nose. "How scary is it?". Amelia asked because she was tired of playing games with Scarlett. "It's very scary Mama!". Scarlett said in between tears. Amelia nods her head so that Scarlett can continue her statement. "Inside the school premises….. I do see monsters walking with their head on the floor, while their leg is in the air……. I do see some monsters changing into beasts, and they always come after me, while using a knife". The young Scarlett declared.

She was like a relic stuck in the past and I treasured the short time I had with her. At the time of her only visit, I was a little monster of a kid of five years. To put me in my place or pacify me, she told me stories about scary creatures and beasts that inhabited their village and one such creature was a manananggal. That was the one that stuck with me and the one that I could never forget. She explained to me what it was:

It reeked of decay and death. Samantha froze. The creature tilted its head slowly, as though studying her. Then, with a guttural snarl, it lunged. Samantha screamed, stumbling back as claws slashed through the air where her face had been a heartbeat ago. The sound tore through the forest, sharp enough to wake the dead. Her heart slammed against her ribs, panic clouding her senses. She tripped over a root and fell hard, the cold ground knocking the breath from her lungs.

When I looked back, I found an older woman holding a hoe. Her thick, long hair hung straight down and brushed the ground. It looked extremely unusual. At that moment, I realized that the safe zone had shrunk, and I was standing in a danger zone. “It’s the middle of the night. What are you doing out here instead of sleeping?” The ghoul lady looked straight at me. I watched as her black hair floated and got close to winding around my neck. My throat was parched. It was a natural fear response. Shaking, I raised the eggs and greens in my hands.

Shaun kicks Lester in the side. "Okay, but I want answers as soon as we find clothes." Jon and Shaun look around and finally find some in a storage room. I'm assuming they dressed people up before the bidding because the clothes are a pair of extremely short jean shorts and a tight crop top. I'll be lucky if my breasts don't pop out of that thing. Shaun has Skye go into the storage area and shut the door. Skye was right; I felt no pain when shifting back to human. I quickly get dressed and walk out. Jon looks at me with wide eyes.

I stood there, frozen, unable to move, unable to look away. The bushes rustled again, and I saw it—a big, shadowy figure, its eyes gleaming in the dark. It was unlike anything I had ever seen, its form vague and indistinct, but its presence unmistakable. I screamed, my voice high and piercing, my body finally responding to the terror that had seized me. I turned and ran, my mind filled with images of the monster, its growl echoing in my ears. Fiona’s house was my only sanctuary, and I sprinted towards it, not daring to look back. I reached the door, fumbling with the keys before bursting inside, my breath ragged and tears streaming down my face.

All the cottages looked empty. They had orders to capture humans and interrogate them to find the easiest passage into the city. "Do you see anything?" The first scout asked. "I think I heard something. I'll go inside," the other responded, looking at Jana's house. The women heard the front door being forced open! There was no way to escape. Jana had to protect her daughter and she did the only thing that came to her mind. "Get inside the closet and whatever happens, don't come out and don't make any nois

Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories. To make it easier to understand and more transparent, this chapter will be like a summary for this and the following volumes. Vol.2: medium stories: The antics of Bia's crew ( ABC) Bia comments on a crew of children of criminals, in an invisible ship. In this world full of magic, demonic beasts and restrictions, they live on the run, abandoned by their parents. Not being accepted anywhere in the world they have to survive on small illegal jobs and from time to time to plunder.

Well, that scared me. I looked behind and … “AHHH HOLY SHIT.” I scream as I practically fly out of bed like a bird and ‘perch’ on the floor. “Stay behind me.” He holds the flip flop tightly and tries to face the danger head on. “Ugheh skejwikkl. What is that.” I made incoherent noises of disgust as I was filled with the cringe feeling similar to that of nails on a chalkboard. This might be much more horrifying than any ghost movie I have ever seen.

Slowly… slowly… Until it stood right above her head. Anusha froze with fear. She turned her head slightly— There was no one in the room. But on the wall… the shadow stood. And then— The shadow’s head moved close to her ear and whispered— “I have come…” Her eyes widened. The next second, the lamp went out. The room plunged into darkness. And someone grabbed her shoulder— Cold… icy… not human at all. Anusha screamed and fainted. When she woke up in the morning, the guest house was normal.
