His lips parted to reveal sharp fangs. He snarled at her, a little louder than the mild growl he’d given her before. His body didn’t move though.

“She’s not behind us! She’s gone!” The world narrowed to one thing: fury: everything else — strategy, caution, survival — evaporated. My hands shook on my weapons, but the rage burning through me made them steady. Fury had burst out in Lumpusberg with a dangerous, body-disintegrating tornado accompanied by a thunderstorm which caused destruction in the opposing army. Terry smirked behind his helmet and continued to fight. The Unbidden Army burst out at another border, the southernmost of the pack. The soldiers there were prepared and they fought back, aiming to push them away from the pack.

Fury rolled off him like heat from a fire. “Seize that damn woman!”

Red saliva dripped from the corners of her mouth, forming a sticky thread that clung to the furry chin.
