I flipped through my drawing pad searching for anything worth sharing. I settled for the drawing of a wolf that I had drawn and colored. It was of a white wolf and a dark-furred wolf in the forest. He exclaims. Mr. Sunshine offers to show the group the photo he's taken. They look at the screen of the camera, and they can't believe what they see. The photo is a cartoon drawing, with exaggerated features and bright colors. Everyone looks so silly, and the photo is hilarious. They all burst into laughter, and the sound of joy fills the air. "I hope you like the picture, my friends!" Mr. Sunshine says, and he winks. "Would you like me to draw another one?" He asks.

I have never been more embarrassed before an old woman like I was at that moment. After eating my fill with Aileen wondering if I would have enough space for breakfast, I rubbed my tummy and gazed at the papers stuck to the fridge. It was childish drawing's definitely from the children at the orphanage. One had a huge caricature drawing with a red crayon with a wrongly spelled Orian written at the bottom. The next was a drawing that had two caricatures, one slightly bigger than the other and it had Orian and Nexus written at the bottom. But I wasn't sure if Nexus drew this or the kids.

Then suddenly, a frown formed between his brows, and he said, “Are you crazy? Why are you drawing a man’s d*ck?” A man’s what? D*ck? I looked at my drawing again. I felt my face turn hot like a fireball. “No!” I freaked out and showed my drawing to him again. “This is n-not that! I swear! I would never draw that! Why would I d-draw something like…” My eyes went to the bulge on his pants and quickly back to his face. “That’s not it!” I explained, almost sobbing in embarrassment. “I would never do something like that. I swear!”

Why would I have such twisted thoughts suddenly? I shook the thoughts from my head, opening the notebook. The first thing I’ve noticed was the word ‘bitch’ , but a funny drawing captured my eyes, a laugh escaped my lips. “Andy can be childish sometimes” I mumbled, looking at the witch with green eyes and red hair she drew just below the word ‘bitch’. I started to turn pages, narrowing my eyes as I glanced at the sketches. This girl has a horrible talent when it comes to drawing, I smiled, turning pages once more, I stopped when I noticed a poem.

"What's it, sweetie?" Saben pushed the paper in her face. "Look! I did this for you! Sabrina took the paper, her heart softening at the sight. It was a drawing of their family—stick figures with big smiles, holding hands. Above them was a bright yellow sun, and beside them was a dog that Saben often talked about wanting. “It’s beautiful, Saben,” Sabrina said, pulling him into a hug. “You’re such a talented artist!” Benedict walked over and crouched beside them, ruffling Saben's hair to give him an occasional genuine but rare smile. "You did this all on your own, buddy?"

It felt more intimate than if he’d written a sonnet. “Mummy, you’re thinking loud again,” Keila announced from the table, where she was diligently coloring a new picture. This one had two tall, black rectangles. One had a small, yellow circle at the top. The other had a frowny face in the middle. “Sorry, sweetie. What are you drawing?” “This is you at your work,” she said, pointing to the circle-topped rectangle. “That’s your sunshine head.” She pointed to the frowny rectangle. “And that’s your quiet man. He has a poorly heart.”

Sinclair, the visual teacher, approached me. I felt shy at her comment and wondered if she was telling the truth or just being kind to me. I settled for the last thought. She led me towards the picture booth. "I'll do good, Ms. Sinclair," I said after she walked off, right after showing me the picture booth box. She nodded, and I slapped my head, wishing I'd said nothing. I haven't been here for five minutes, and I'm already showing my weirdness. I cursed myself. Shortly, couples were popping up, and the party began. Some came to take pictures. Since the school couldn't afford a better picture booth machine. I had to be the one to collect the cash they had to pay before taking a picture.

For a little guy, he is way too good. There are all different kinds of drawings that are too neat, I shuffle through them, trying to find one to stick on our fridge in the kitchen. I smile to myself when I come across a picture of him and I then there's Jasmine and even Alex, with and without devil horns— that makes me laugh. I pass by other boyish things, like cars, dragons, dogs, dinosaurs and ninjas, lots and lots of them.
