Veronica’s POV The Preliminary Hunt exclusive for newly converted rogues is much like other hunting competitions— except that the beasts and creatures hunted must be kept alive. The participants were given magic chokers personalized with assigned colors to each clan as their marking tools for their hunt. The winner will be decided by the highest points accumulated during the given time. Each beast has an assigned point in them depending on their species so it really doesn't depend on quantity. The hunts will be offered to the pack they represent and the pack can decide whether to take in the offerings or not.

Ronan’s voice cut through the quiet, low and gravelly, and it was the first time I’d heard him talk since we started the hunt. I bit the inside of my cheek because he wasn’t wrong. There was nothing. Just the faint scent of fox and deer buried under layers of snow, and even the occasional wild wolf wasn’t enough to set me on edge. If the rogues had passed through here, we would’ve known. Their foul stench should’ve been clinging to every frozen surface, lingering in the air like a warning. But there was nothing. “Two pack members were hit. They saw them,” Marcus said, his words clipped as he pushed forward, his shoulders tense and I could tell even he was feeling frustrated already. The snow

She said, trying to remember the vague of memory, “I'm hunting-” “The hell misty!” “My lady should let me finish my words please?” She giggled, kinda amuse. “And what's wrong hunting if it's for the love of my life?” “How can hunting be related to love, Misty?” My mind spun to the idea, given a destructive results if relates the act to love. She shiver, and somehow a thing last night came to her mind. She murmured, “So if ever, I was hunt... for love?” Misty's eyes widened. “Are you being hunt, my lady?”

And then I had woken up alone to a cold bed with his familiar warmth gone. There had been no note, no phone number, nothing I could use to identify. The only thing that remained was his faint scent and the memory of his body writhing beneath mine and I pounded him. Rage had coiled in my belly. He dare he run away? Nobody walked away from me. No one had dared to disappear from me without any form of consequences. That same morning, I had made calls. I was quick to hire the best investigators money could buy to find him.

Now he was my only support who could show me the light out of this hideous place. "W-w-who are you?" I stuttered, looking at him. "I'm the last person alive in this place, Anderson Parkmerg. That girl was a disaster walking, and I absolutely adored the organized chaos that was Elena. I quietly crept down the stairs before slipping out the back door and into the forest. I stopped beneath his tree, looking up, scanning the tree for him but not finding him. “I know you’re here, ‘Sprey. I can feel you.” He sighed as he swung himself down out of the tree. “Hey, Scarlett. I was just leaving. I was hunting a squirrel. They’re fast and good to hunt to keep myself fresh and-”

"If I participate in the Hunt, no one can follow to keep tabs on me?" Oddny visibly blinked her eyes slowly and reluctantly said, “… Yes.” Mallory immediately hid her excitement. She continued walking, then said, “I’ll be joining the hunt then.” “Pardon?” Oddny and Cyril asked in chorus. “Well,” Mallory smiled. I’ve found my opportunity. “I want to hunt alone, too.”

The thing that it smelled like detergent powder instead of him ruined my mood more. I need a coffee. Deciding to call Oliver instead to know if he knew about Syl's whereabouts, I walked out of the room and headed downstairs. Damn those huge corridors!
