Its body was round and plump, covered in fine hair. Its eight fuzzy, long legs crawled across my skin, immediately causing a burning pain.

It was too far to reach. Tears stung my eyes. I blinked them back and turned my head, scanning the dark for any way out, and startled at the movement I saw at the edge of the web. She was crouched at the edge of the web, just past the reach of the moonlight. Eight legs, jointed and black and slick, each one longer than I was tall, lifting her up and up until she towered over the web on a swollen abdomen that pulsed in the dark.

My jaw felt fused shut. The mass reached my face. I could feel the microscopic prick of their legs against my skin. They didn't bite; they just moved, a relentless, dry carpet of chitin and movement. They flowed over my cheeks, their legs tangling in my eyelashes. And then, they found the opening. My mouth was slightly parted. The spiders began to pour inside.

The spider was humongous; it was an illusion formed with internal energy. The spider had poisonous fog surrounding it. It was dozens of meters high and had eight legs. Each leg was dozens of meters long. Its back was covered with dark green scales, and the venomous fangs flickered, sending chills down one's spine. As the giant spider appeared, the surroundings' temperature quickly reduced by a few degrees. Everyone could feel the chill. While most were shocked, many disciples were inexplicably excited too.

I know it right away what it is—a Brown Recluse. Behind him, another spider comes. Its stomach is twice as round. The size of a large dog on steroids, she could have sworn the nightmarish freak grinned at its foolish blonde dinner. Holy freakn' shit.

My brain stops working. I can’t quite comprehend what I’m seeing. I’m shaking badly, but at the same time my body feels incapable of any kind of movement. All I know is that I can’t look away from the creature slowly crawling out of the sewers, its legs as thick as branches. Its face is pale and just . . . wrong. It has eight eyes like a regular spider, black and beady and scattered on its forehead. Its hair is long and flowy, and I don’t know if it’s just me, or if it has that blurry, crawling quality that makes my skin prickle.

She suddenly flashed her heavy-duty flashlight at it while her expression was rigid with fear. "That's a spider…. right?" She asked, examining the eight legged monster sleeping quietly in the shadows. "Who knows, it is a fact that it has eight legs… but not every eight legged arachnid is a spider…" Jigen answered. Jigen remained wise with his words. He had a reasonable understanding of what would happen next, but if he told everyone what he was thinking, they might pass out from dread.
