Luna's Dark Revenge
I snarled, and pushed deeper into the woods, my claws bursting from my fingertips.
The trees thinned suddenly, giving way to an open field scorched black. At its center loomed a structure of stone and metal, an arch inscribed with glowing sigils that pulsed like a heartbeat. Lightning stretched across the clouds, as if mirroring the energy that hummed in the air.
Axel drew his blade. “That’s the outer ward.”
“It’s already war,” I said. “We end it here.”
I raised my hand, drew my own blood, and flung it toward the arch. The droplets hung in the air, igniting gold before turning crimson. A pulse rolled outward, shattering glass and shaking the trucks behind us.
