Checks the time 'Sh*t it's already six thirty'. Summer had begun and all of the neighborhood kids took advantage of every bit of daylight that shined. As soon as the sun come up you could hear the ATV's rummble from inside the house. Blacking out her windows to get some sleep during the daylight hours had done its job but there was nothing she could do about the noise disturbing her rest. She remembered what it was like to be a child. Carefree. Happy. Endless summer days with friends. That isn't something she dared ruin for them. Besides her salted caramel java monster would pep her up in no time.

After Summer had left for England, She arrived the university and was assisted to her dorm room. She shared a room with a New Yorker named Octavia. They were in the same faculty and in turn became friends. Leo, William, Drake and Stephanie also left for college. During the Holidays they would all return home. Summer didn’t associate with them much because she was beyond busy, any little opportunity she gets she put it into her business. The only time she was spotted was on Sandra’s wedding day and the naming ceremony for Sandra’s baby.

Summer chuckled sweetly. "Yes, Daddy. The four of us fell asleep in one tent. But unfortunately, I woke up in the middle of the night. Uncle Brandon used my sleeping bag as a pillow. I couldn't sleep well without it. Luckily, River was kind enough to lend me his sleeping bag. That's why River and I moved to the next tent." "So it's true that you and River slept together?" Summer nodded innocently. "Yes, Daddy. Just like Uncle Brandon and Aunt Briony. They also slept together," she answered innocently.

Not ever. Summer sat by the window, staring out into the darkness. The cold breeze from the open window brushed against her skin, but the chill in the air was nothing compared to the unease gnawing at her chest. Hilda had just left for the night, and now she was alone, consumed by thoughts of what Jessica was planning. Her mind couldn't settle, turning over the conversation she'd overheard earlier. Jessica's words echoed in her mind—When the foxes leave tomorrow, Summer will go with them.

RED She smiled at me and moved closer to where I sat. She took my hands in hers and closed her sharp eyes. I watched as she started humming a song I couldn’t comprehend. When she finished she opened her eyes and smiled. “On your eighteenth birthday, your mate will come. But beware for he will be a creature of the night…”

my mother said softly, "and your eighteenth birthday is crucial. The texts suggest a reunion, one where you'll need your powers fully awakened." I swallowed hard, my dreams crashing over me like waves, pulling me deeper into the murky depths of my lineage—the sisters that had haunted my sleep, their laughter echoing like sirens calling me home. July is becoming August, the light shifting again, the angle changing, something in the quality of it that is different from July, less certain, the first suggestion that summer is not permanent. August is not permanent. Nothing is permanent. That is not a melancholy thought. It is just true. You return to the subject and find it changed, and the change is the point. I bring back two canvases from each Saturday. The series is eleven paintings now. Eleven different lights. The figure in the gap in each one is doing something slightly different, the posture shifting across the series the way the figure shifted across the window series incrementally, each painting a small change from the last.

Well I didn't, I’m still here and I’m not going anywhere, as long as I can complete my mission that is. That wouldn’t be a problem though, I just had to figure out a way to get out of here without the guards being up my ass. I did think about acting like I was going into labor. That would get me out, but I’m sure they will make sure I was watched the whole time, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those humans would have a gun to my head the whole time. So, I needed to be able to get out of here without the humans knowing. I hated being down in these cells.

August 15th (Saturday) Finn came by to visit James, Sunny, and, of course, sweet Mrs. Sweeney. James happened to have a bad summer cold. He kept coughing and sneezing as his mother looked at him and said, "Boy! That awful cold better be gone before the trip, and I sure hope I don’t catch it! "O-Of course. We're friends." Satisfied with my response, Bethany finally let go of my arm and followed me inside. I opened the door, but the office was pitch-black. "Dad, these are the friends I mentioned, the ones coming to work here for the summer," I said cautiously. Before I could introduce them, they pushed past me and crowded into the room. "Hello, Mr. Parker. We're here for the summer jobs. May I know what the pay is like? Is ten thousand dollars a month okay? Oh, and I'm not really into factory work. Can I get an office job instead?"
