Joseph felt the wind knocked out of him as he heard the whistle followed by the loudest sound he's ever heard in all his 16 years under the Tau Ceti sun. A whiz and BOOM. Whiz and BOOM. Explosion after explosion came pummeling down onto them. An unending barrage of terrifying heat and sound and fireball crashed all around them. Joseph covered his face as clods of disturbed earth pelted and rained down on him. His screams were drowned out by the loud thunders. It went on forever. Until it didn't. Then it stopped. He heard nothing afterwards except the constant ringing in his ear.

I almost cried when I saw the view. The cool, upland air flooded through the everlasting branches of the lively tree, and it casted a vague shadow onto the grasses' fine green. Fresh sunlight penetrated through the branches of the tree, illuminating perfect spheres of water upon its green wands. My numb and almost transparent feet were blanketed by the sweetness of the scene, as the sunlight painted my lips red, my hair ebony, and my eyes honey-like. The noon sunlight acted as a HD camera, telling no lies, in a world in which shadows of truth are the harshest, revealing every flaw in the sight, like a toddler carrying his very first camera, taking pictures of whatever he saw.

Such a cute kid. The ride back home was hell. Bumper-to-bumper traffic, and Sarafin Turner’s “Bold” was the biggest song on the radio right now, so it blared from the speakers every third song. As I looked out the window, a poem read by the announcer came on. ‘I’ve never had clouds follow me each day, years of sun that never went away. I lie here awake but I’m not one to pray, everything’s changed but now I’m okay.

Her laughter echoed like musical chimes amid the sun's roaring energy. The children, little embodiments of solar energy themselves, danced around Jolene, their joyful cries mixing with the deep hum of the sun's surface. Jolene was vibrant and full of life, a beacon of warmth that drew everyone in. Apollo felt his heart swell with love as he watched her embrace their children, twirling and spinning with them, her movements as fluid as the flowing solar winds.

"I'm sure we'll each find our perfect match, guys. Just wait and see," Sunshine said with a reassuring smile. As we continued discussing our hopes and fears, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived. An elder, a strong and dignified figure, stepped forward, signaling the start of the ceremony. The village fell silent

Her voice was soft but soulful, breaking the silence in the cafe. “When the sun is up, on a clear blue sky. You will act like a lover. When the sky is gray and the rain comes down. Lying with me by my side” Slowly, the attention of the two customers began to turn to her. They seemed impressed with her performance, even though there were only a few of them, Nayla tried her best.

Every time it rained, she would call out the window, "Tyler, it’s raining. Come home. I made chicken casserole for you." But no one ever answered. The rain kept falling, washing away the filth of this world, and the regret that came far too late.

My pulse increased, and I squeezed my eyes tightly together, willing it to stop and pleading to Selene that it would pass. I pushed the feeling further and further down. I felt a slight pinch in my neck, and my entire body felt heavy. The burning subsided as I was pulled into the darkness. ~~~ "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
