My tears blurred my vision. “Stop making this expensive joke!”

By the time they reached the rooftop, they had become very faint, like the meowing of a kitten in the distance. Jenny’s eyes grew warm. Tears welled up from her tear glands, gathering at the lower edge of her eyes. Under the orange light of the streetlights, they sparkled with moisture. Her nasal passages stung, and her nasal turbinates swelled from the irritation of the tears. As air passed through her nose, it made a “hiss” sound. She didn’t wipe her tears. The tears spilled from the corners of her eyes, slid down her cheeks, past her lips and chin, and dropped onto the concrete surface of the low wall. They left small, dark dots on the gray concrete.

"You never told me about your childhood. Never told me what you did for me. You just decided—all on your own—to die for me. Who gave you the right? Who the hell gave you the right to keep it from me?" Jayden's voice grew sharper, his anger building until he finally lashed out, kicking the gravestone beside him. What a sin. He stared at my photo on the gravestone, his breath ragged, his chest rising and falling in uneven bursts before slowly settling. Then his legs buckled. He dropped to his knees, palms pressing into the dirt as tears fell. "Why did you do this? Why? What am I supposed to do…" His voice was barely a whisper, choked with despair and pain.

She braces herself and heads for the toilet. Thankfully, the place is empty so she gets into action. She takes out a small bottle of glycerine and puts a few drops in her eyes. “Ow!” She winces. The liquid slightly burns her eyes and she blinks back tears. How do people use this thing? She wonders painfully. “I forgot to mention that the glycerine might sting a little,” Ryder’s voice comes through the mic “A little?” She hisses. “This thing is torturing me!”

My vison became blurring as I stared at Anthony’s face. I suddenly realized that my tears were responsible for blurring my vision and that if I blinked, they would freely roll down my face. I didn’t want to have an emotional breakdown like this, but I figured that it might not be entirely bad. Anthony deserves to see me suffering and miserable. If my tears could sway him just a little, then it might just be worth it.

She sniffed. "Please!" I pleaded again as a single tear trickle down my eye. Geez! I can't believe a tear just came out of my eyes. I can't even remember the last time I saw my own tears. My mind flashed back to the guy I saw Diva with. So this is how bad it hurts...

Just as he was about to turn, I hid behind the wall as I placed my hand to my chest, tears streaming down my cheeks as I tried to blink them back in, but it wasn’t helping. It felt like the more I tried to keep the tears in, the more they streamed down my cheeks. My heart was racing, it felt like I couldn’t breathe, and I felt like I was choking on my own tears. I held my stomach as I closed my eyes, more tears streaming down my cheeks. “I’m sorry, baby. I am sorry. Mummy is really sorry.” I said as I bent, bowing my head in arm as more tears streamed down my cheeks.

“Did they get turned into vampires, too?” I shook my head, and the horribly familiar burning in my dried-out tear ducts settled in my eyes, creeping up simultaneously in my throat, and clutching at the back of my nose. I squeezed my lids shut, willing them to flood forth, but – as always – no tears came.

It doesn't reach my eyes. My vision blurs. My breath hitches. And then, then it happens. The laughter dies in my throat, twisting, warping into something else entirely. My shoulders shake first, then my hands. I press my lips together, willing it to stop, but it doesn't. I suck in a sharp breath, but it stutters on the way in. Then the first tear slips. I swipe at it angrily, but another follows. And another. And another. The next breath I take shatters me.
