Lexi It has been two weeks since the nightmares started and now they come every night. Tonight is no different. It starts off pleasant. Memories of my grandma and my parents. Days having fun on the beach collecting shells and swimming. My fifth birthday party with everyone I love around and alive. It flows through my mind like an old home movie. I’m at peace and happy. The peace doesn't last long. The memories fade to pitch black. Glowing neon yellow and red eyes and razor sharp fangs with no face appear.

Amber was getting ready for bed in one of the guest rooms and thinking about the plans for tomorrow. She knew this could be very dangerous, and they were going in this will be very little information about the Zombies that have now sprung about. She wondered when these poor people were turned to Zombies if they remembered their past or if they were a new slate, over run with the infection that had created them. She felt tired and wanted to lay down. The thought of sleep would be nice. However, the dream that may and most likely would come would make it be a less restful night. She only needed about 6 hours to really feel right with the world, but that was not guaranteed.

Andrews drinking his coffee. I could still feel David's eyes staring but was too scared to look. Until I heard him snap his fingers. "Now I remember where I've seen her." he blurted. I was disoriented, and that bastard didn’t care how thinner I was getting each passing day. Five days since I moved in with him. Five days was all it took him to take away my happiness, and turn me into a bitter soul. I had nightmares each night. The fire. My mother screaming for help. Her body burning into ashes. The memory taunted me each night, and I was scared of falling asleep, but I couldn’t show the bastard how scarred I was by his actions. He was keeping his distance, and I couldn’t be more grateful. He appears in my room only at night after returning from work where I always played dead.

Aurora’s POV The nightmares came relentlessly, night after night, like a shadow that refused to be banished by the daylight. I would jolt awake in the dead of night, gasping for air, my heart hammering against my ribs in that terrifying, irregular flutter my doctor had warned me about since childhood. In the dreams, Jake’s hands were always on me — rough, insistent, pinning me to that cold wooden chair in the damp warehouse while he forced the manipulated photo of Theo and Cassie in front of my eyes. The gag in my mouth tasted of dust and fear, muffling my screams into pathetic whimpers. The ropes burned my wrists raw with every desperate tug. His mocking laugh echoed through the empty space

The stain never comes off. I hear music and laughter. Sounds that dig deep, cutting sharply through my confusion and panic, gouging inside my ears. I hear voices. Voices of ghosts and nightmares. Voices I've heard my whole life. Voices I could never escape. I want to piss myself, I want to puke, but I know that will make Mum mad. I can't stay here, in this tiny bathroom. There's no point. The lock is broken. Sometimes, if I'm quiet, if I'm really quiet, they forget I'm here, so caught up in their shit that they don't remember the little mouse hiding in the bedroom. I could go there now and hide in the wardrobe. Yes, that's what I'll do.

Mommy used to tell me that Nightmare is an evil spirit formerly thought to oppress people while they were sleeping. It causes people to experience bad things in their dreams. Yuan used to get annoyed whenever I cry and wet the bed because I had a bad dream. Mom and Dad will come to me and let me sleep in their room.
