That's Calling The Kettle Black Novels & Stories

The Calling Chapter 1 I am walking down the cliffy road, it’s dark out with only the street lamp to illuminate my path. I am slightly cold and very irritated at my current situation. I had gotten to my car only to discover the battery dead. Obviously the car would not start, could not even unlock the bloody door via car remote.

“Fuck, you’re wet, open the stuff behind and grab a condom.” Calla fumbled to do as he said, reaching blindly for the compartment behind the seat. Her fingers closed around a foil packet, and she handed it to Killian. “Do you always keep condoms back here?” she teased, tearing the packet open with her teeth. Killian smirked. “Remember Killian Black, a popularly known man whore.”

I said, reaching into my pocket. “What are you doing?” Rex asked. “I’m calling Black.” River’s head snapped up. “What? Are you crazy? Calling him for what? ‘Hey, I want to check up on your wife’?” I rolled my eyes at him. “Relax, River. I’m just kidding. I’m calling someone else.” “Who?” Rex asked, his eyes narrowing at me. “His head maid,” I said simply. The two of them stared at me like I had grown two heads. “You have the number of a maid in Black’s house?” River and Rex asked together.

"Kevin, why don't you thank Julian? Your knees must be awfully precious. As long as you kneel and apologize, the money is yours. I'm taking Julian to get checked for injuries." She shot me a glare before helping the "injured" Julian out of the room. Then suddenly, the phone lying on the table lit up. A person with a black cat profile picture had sent me a single question mark.

That if he found out about my past, he would leave me, and for what it is worth. I don't think I would live without him. He was my life. A triumphant look appeared on his face. I opened my mouth to say something when my phone rang. It was Alpha Killian. I cleaned my sweaty palm against my dress and picked up the call. "Hello, Alpha Killian." “Hello dear. I need you to be in my office in the next ten minutes to do some dirty work for me. It's a code black baby,” he said. Bile surged within me at the mention of code black. No, not again.

He knew better. Kerill was jealous—no matter how much he denied it. --- Later that evening, dinner was served, featuring Black’s kaldereta. “So? How is it, kids?” Black asked eagerly. Ericka simply nodded, while the twins happily slurped the soup. “Can you cook this again next time, Uncle?” Lily asked. “Of course. You’re my favorite,” Black replied, ruffling her hair. “This isn’t even that good,” Kerill muttered. Saviel heard him. “Let me try, Boss.” He took a spoonful. “It’s actually good.”

I whispered, my fingers resting over his calloused hands… "I want my rank set in stone so we can move forward with the mating..." Before he could answer, the loud, aggressive vibration of Killian's phone echoed off the wooden dresser... Killian reached over, picking up the device... His brow furrowed as he looked at the screen, his dark wolf eyes narrowing... "It's Kelavra," he growled low, his jaw tightening... "Why the fuck is she calling my phone this early?" "Put it on speaker," I said, my voice flat, my claws popping just a fraction out of my cuticles as my body automatically braced for another one of their desperate attempts to ruin my morning...

Daniel stood silent, jaw tight, refusing to answer. Katherina shook her head, her voice breaking into a furious scream. “I think I’m talking to a human being, not a ghost, Daniel Elan Blackwood! I definitely deserve an explanation!” Daniel’s voice was cold when he finally spoke. “Is that why you have been calling me by my full name for the past ten minutes? For the record, Kat no. You don’t deserve an explanation. Not from me. Not about this, what I do, who I sleep with is none of your business.”

Her voice was particularly shrill to my ears. "They're dead! All dead! That is wonderful! I am happy when you are miserable!" My eyes turned red. I swung the knife down hard to stab her. That was when Liam rushed in. A flash of black light flew out from his sleeve. A little Black Dragon lunged at Lucia and bit her throat hard. Lucia held her hand to her throat as fresh blood spurted freely. She fell to the ground. The little Black Dragon turned back to quietly slide up my wrist. He looked up at me. "I'm here to see you, Mom."

“Oh, wow. It’s the twenty-first century. How can someone remain so superstitious? If you ask me, your mom must have done many terrible things in her life. That’s why she died from cancer. Otherwise, why would she be the one to get cancer while everyone else is fine?” Anthony chuckled and chimed in without the slightest trace of guilt. “Felix, why don’t you let your mom do one last good deed while she’s still useful? Maybe that way she’ll go to heaven. It’s the same principle as slaughtering a pig. Right after it dies, everything’s the freshest. If you wait too long, it’ll be too late.” The dead deserved respect. Even if the person lying there wasn’t his own mother, how could a doctor say som
