"Alpha Von, I kindly ask you not to bring up that topic. We are here to discuss business nothing more." Alpha Von seemed undeterred. "But Alpha Damien, it is a matter of trust. As an alpha, I need to ensure that my allies are trustworthy." Damien's patience wore thin, and his voice grew firm. "I assure you, Alpha Von, Zeta's loyalty is unquestionable. We wouldn't be here if we hadn't resolved our differences." Alpha Von dismissed Damien's words with a wave of his hand. "I think you're overreacting. Let's not ruin a potential collaboration over a misunderstanding."

I could not stop thinking about it. I was feeling a lot of things. Distrust. Exhaustion. Fear. Not the kind of fear that makes you scream or run away.. The kind that settles in slowly after you have been disappointed too many times. I know this kind of fear well. Luke said from behind me "She will agree eventually." His voice was steady. It broke through my thoughts. "Now Anna has nowhere else to go, Alpha. This is the place for her whether she likes it or not." I kept looking at the rain for another second before I turned around slowly.

They say your wolf is scaring investors. A deep, rough voice answered. “Tell them to go to hell.” Lyra froze. She knew that voice from the company speakers. Alpha Xavier. He was back early. She ducked behind the tall leather chair, heart pounding. If he saw her, she would lose this job. She could not afford that. Heavy footsteps entered the office. “Leave me.” The other man sighed and left. The door clicked shut. Lyra held her breath. Just stay still. He will sit down and make calls, and you can slip out when he goes to the inner room.

“The Luna of the MoonBlood Pack should possess a lot of qualities that are befitting of a Queen, some of you would have to go through rigorous selective processes and training before the final choice is made by the Alpha. Brace yourselves.” The Beta looked at the door, and then he turned to us and exhaled sharply with a lot of enthusiasm written on his face. “The Alpha has decided to grace us with his presence.”

“I’m 26 years old Alpha.” He looks me up and down for a second before he rises to his feet. “Then you’ll do just fine. I don’t have time to meet other ladies and since you have the qualifications, you will be my contract Luna, my beta will give you the contract to sign. He says before storming out of the room. Chapter 23 Alpha Michel After picking up that jackass arrogant Russian asshole I began to brag about the status of my pack over all others. It wasn’t no secret that his pack was some backwaters hick town inbred pack from the bumfuck nowhere. Legends talk about the pack mostly being of elder and men. In order to find their mates or to reproduce they had to go outside of the pack. But I had to commend them. Not many Alphas could push so many young bitches out of the pack. I heard that this Alpha in front of me, while not the Alpha of his pack was the third born male and thus was more than happy to accept seeming as he did not have a mate. He was known as ruthless and a prick. I did not mind mu

The papers on the table are the contract. I have signed my part, now it's your turn. ------------------------------------------ MADELINE'S POV The words hit me like a slap. Contracted Mate? “Why do we need to draw a contract? Do you not trust my word as the alpha of my territory?” Alpha Remi smiled at his words. He glanced behind Alpha Edwin and then stated coldly, “We all know how hard it is for us to find you once you go missing. With your support, we are taking the first major step towards ensuring the survival of both of our kinds.

But as I opened the folder another group of papers slid out of the folder, and I quickly grabbed them to see another contract. My heart began to race, and I felt lightheaded when I read who the contract was with and what it was for. Sitting up abruptly, I began to quickly flip through the contract, not believing what my eyes were seeing. There was a reason the alpha knew what was in the contract between my family and Tyler’s and that was because he too had the same contract between him and my parents. There was one difference between the two contracts and that was what the Alpha was to gain once one of us was married to a wolf of his choosing.
