It was a declaration: something old had ended, and something unnamed had begun.

[Killian] The bell at Vance's was dying. I noticed it on day six of being a neighbor. Every time the door opened, instead of the clean chime I'd heard the first time I walked in, it produced a grinding scrape, metal dragging against metal. A hinge pin working loose, maybe. she hindered rapidly, running her finger over the little screen. Darell grinned and lifted his hands high, "Statements of regret ma'am." "I see no chime," Marcelyn noticed, raising her wrist to assess the watch. "What ringer?" He questioned, perusing her demeanor. "The ringer rings once an hour, I don't see that here." Darell comprehended what she was referring to. It was the goliath chime that generally gonged boisterously at whatever point an hour passed. "This is a cutting-edge type, and there's no ringer in it, everything you need to do is peruse it to give the current time.
