It's broken wings bent in an awkward angle and those once bright feathers looked so full now. It's dark beady eyes looking at me, they were empty. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry!" I yelled, wailing as I held until the bird tighter but no matter how hard I apologized, it was gone.
