The mess of ink on the white paper reminds me of the monster that lurks in Nana and Papa’s basement, the one that tried to get Abby and Scott to go downstairs with it.

Griffin's Bedroom – 11:08 PM The nightlight cast shadows of rocket ships across the walls as I sat on the edge of Griffin's bed, the starscape projector James had bought him rotating slowly overhead. The room smelled of graphite and apple juice—the telltale scents of my son's peculiar combination of artistic precision and childish appetites. Griffin's small hands clutched the drawing he'd sent Michael, the paper now creased from being folded and unfolded countless times, as if he was trying to reconcile himself with what he had done.

A huge black shadow hovered before them, a shapeless body with red eyes and clearly defined hands. The hands looked like long silver knives. There were many drawings before this one. Lauren wondered how long David had been at it.

She doubted that some eleventh-hour miracle would save her tonight. Christophe reappeared and shed his toweling robe in an untidy heap on the floor. He looked at her, blazing all-male satisfaction, and Lara shrank under the sheet. He stood half in shadow, half in light, the long, muscular planes of his golden body a glorious vision of rampant masculinity, and Lara felt her own hunger stirring, insidious as a secret invader.

I quickly pull away my hand as it burns me. He has dark brown hair. It is cut short on the side and the top looks longer, but I am not sure of it. It is a very muscular and wide back. He has tanned skin and it is also very smooth even after just one touch. In between the two of his shoulder blades, there is a huge black wolf head. The wolf howls to the full moon which is over it. Max and Nora got into another one, while the guards got into the last one. The chauffeurs ignited the cars and they drove. Lily stared out the window and enjoyed the view, the city was beautiful at night. She was amazed by everything they came across that she hadn't seen before, Lily hadn't seen a lot of things before. Axel found her interesting to watch and he decided to stare, he couldn't get tired anyway, he never could. Lily is different, different from every other person he has come across. Her innocence amazes him every time, her way of doing things too included.

You’re perfect, I’m broken.” Tears started to well in her eyes at that moment and he wanted to touch her by her shoulder and pull her closer to him to console him, and maybe kiss her tears dry, but he was apprehensive that it would just drive her more away from him.

The Night-Blooming Garden was the most beautiful and popular place in the Cloud City. More than a garden, it would be more appropriate to describe it as a forest, but as it was located in the heart of the city and a long road crossed it, many would go there, especially at night, when the most beautiful flowers would open with the beginning of each season.
