With a mixture of surprise and curiosity, I swiftly answered the call, bringing the device to my ear. "Hey, why are you calling? I'm at the door... Come open up," I said, my voice laced with anticipation.
To my astonishment, Eden's voice carried through the line, her tone resolute and unwavering. "I'm not going to open the door, Dorian. You should leave," she replied firmly, her words hanging in the air like an unexpected gust of wind.
