I looked at the artifact and saw the line around its weird neck.
"No!" Gerald shouted as I twisted it.
A bright flash of light filled the warehouse, momentarily blinding everyone. The artifact's energy surged once more, and it engulfed the guardians in a cascade of power.
The guardians roared, their forms fading away with the light. One by one, wolves struck down the guardians and they disappeared in a burst of light.
"We did it," Kris murmured, his voice filled with a mixture of relief and awe.
I nodded wordlessly, emotions swirling within me— exhaustion, triumph, and disbelief. I crumbled to my knees and my father Harold rushed towards me.
