This only happens when the omega is too nervous. Otherwise, you would never see betty silent for more than 30 seconds. Irish looked at them and saw them already looking at her. Betty was the one who talked, her voice light, holding the guilt she was feeling. "I am sorry Irish. I. . . I don't know what came over me to say such things. I wasn't myself. " Betty said, refusing to look up at her soulmate.

"It's been a very long time." The voice echoed through the Chamber of Origins. Calm. Gentle. Almost amused. Yet every word sent ripples through the stars. The Chamber trembled. Silver light flickered across the endless sky. The Heart froze. The child stood perfectly still. Eyes wide. Face pale. The reaction alone was enough to alarm everyone. Betty's voice was barely audible as she whispered, "I know you're a good man, Mateo." Mateo's eyes dropped to her other hand, as she gently raised it placing it on his chest. He was surprised as she touched the scar on his chest. A small smile played on her lips as she said, "Beneath this torn flesh is a golden heart, but hidden by the scar of a feared man."

Like statues. Carson left Daniel's hand and slowly moved to Russell. He stood close to him looking him with blurry vision. But he instantly wiped his eyes. He had promised Daniel, no more tears. Russell was fine now. He held his hand softly observing him and slowly bend over his chest. He placed his ear on his heart and stayed there for a while. Daniel was looking at him. He was silent. He let Carson do anything he wanted to. After a while he stood straight and looked toward Daniel. "Its beating." His voice was no louder than a whisper.

No big declarations or dramatic confessions. Just the soothing sounds of the house and the gentle rhythm of two hearts learning to be soft again. ---

And as she lay in the dark, the phone glowing in her hands, she whispered into the quiet: “I love you, Daniel.” But she didn’t send it. Because some loves don’t speak in words. They speak in silence. And hope.
