[Alice's POV] Noelle worked fast. Even faster than she had promised. She was a legend! Forty-one hours after I'd sat in that server room surrounded by monitors and anime figurines, my phone buzzed at 2:14 a.m. with a detailed message from Noelle.

For a long moment, he didn’t respond, just blinked and let the reality sink into him, then he closed his eyes, he had not felt this free in weeks. I did not dare move, afraid that any sudden shift might shatter him entirely. When he finally exhaled, a long, shuddering breath, it was a relief. The sunrise began to filter through the windows, spilling golden light across the remnants of the struggle. It painted the walls with warmth that hadn’t existed when darkness had dominated. I hadn’t realized how long it had been. Over seven hours. Seven hours of chaos, fear, and unrelenting darkness. I glanced around at the other pack members that were present.

120 hours, that was all it would take. Kate looked up at the sky, 119:53:42 shone in the blue of the afternoon. The time was enchanted across the sky, a magic that had been lent from another kingdom. The alpha's first bite ceased to be effective in 119 hours, 53 minutes, and 27, 26, 25 seconds. Kate counted down, grateful for each second that passed in their favor.

I politely dismissed her. "Fine by me. I don't want any unnecessary attachments either" she shrugged and left the room. I once again sighed and face palmed. I hope this would be done and over with soon. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Arielle's POV Almost a week flew by fast and Xander only stayed over at Casey's place one night and went back to his place. I have my 48 hour date with Xander tomorrow and I could say that I was nervous and excited at the same time. I decided that if I was going to spend 48 hours with him I better be prepared and I needed to start packing some lingerie.

I jumped up and tried to grab him, but an officer dragged me away to change. I didn't even want to imagine what Ellie would go through after five days alone with Daphne and Jared. The fear crushed me. I paced nonstop inside the tiny cell. That night, I finally broke down. I collapsed onto the hard bunk, and the pain from everything that happened finally hit all at once. I closed my eyes, hoping sleep would make the time pass faster. Less than five minutes later, someone jolted me awake. A man in the next cell leaned against the bars and whistled. "You're hurt pretty bad. Figured I should wake you in case you died quietly over there."

"But from now on — everything." "Everything," he said. She nodded. She looked at the folder on the table. The photograph of Dennis Holt at the top. A man she had never met who had been sitting four seats from George on the night that started all of this. She thought about Nathan in Portland when she arrived, ready with warmth and welcome and a door already open. She thought about how thoroughly she had walked through it. She looked at George. "Thirty-six hours," she said. "Thirty-six hours," he said.

And from every door— an army began pouring into Evera. Hope held Nova tightly. Adrian stepped beside her. Lyra raised her hand. Kael and Kieran prepared themselves. Hope looked at the endless army. Then she whispered: “Seven days became seven hours.” She looked at Nova. “And now…” The countdown appeared in the sky. 00:59:59. It was the first time Selene had witnessed something like this, so no wonder she was terrified, while others remained stoically calm. Alice the tent for a while again, but soon came back, announcing what she, Elisabeth, and Meredith had sensed.

ELARA'S POV Monday I started a new book. Not planning. Not outlining. Just the opening question written at the top of a clean document and then the first paragraph beneath it, finding its way forward from that single line. I wrote for two hours before I looked up. Damien had left for the office at eight-thirty and the apartment was in its daytime quiet and outside the March morning was doing its grey patient thing and I'd been completely elsewhere for two hours without noticing the time pass.
