DANIEL'S POV. THE NEXT DAY. I couldn't believe I'd hired that girl. She was so weird and different from anyone I'd seen before and that didn't sit well with me. My pitying self just had to look into her big eyes and give her what she wanted. Now I'm stuck with her as my maid. "What's that lady's name again?" I asked Clara who was doing her best to keep up with my stride. "Jessica Cooper," Clara said, out of breath.

she wore a disgusted scowl on her face, "Hey, don't talk about miss Maraïda like that. You know she's the new lady of the house now," another maid added, "New lady my foot! That woman is a sneaky bitch! She just wants to replace Madame Sophia in Mr. Shenko's life." The second maid with the scowl repeated, "Cassidy!!!" The head maid, I remember was called Fatou, scolded her, "Stop! What ever happens in our superiors lives is none of our business. We are here to work and that is just what we should do."

And so, as the villa bloomed with preparations, she floated among the chaos like a self-proclaimed queen, blind to the shadows that stirred just beyond her carefully polished walls. In one of the upper rooms, far from Marcella’s shrill delight, a young maid moved quietly through the dust. Her name mattered little to those around her—Marcella never remembered it, and the other servants rarely spoke of her. Yet it was she who stumbled upon the object that would shift the course of the household.

She said with a smile. “Have you changed the camera's direction?” The maid nodded. “Okie. So I look presentable?” She asked as she did a 360 turn. The maid nodded eagerly. “Your dress is okay boss. And you are glowing due to the pregnancy.” She added. Mara nodded as she walked away from the living room and down the corridor. She hurried in her steps, turning and turning until she finally approached the stairs, two of the maids appointed to her followed some meters behind her on their mission to make sure their madam successfully seduced her husband, their first young master.

No matter what, since heaven had given me a second chance at life, I absolutely could not allow the tragedy of my previous life to repeat itself. I returned to the bedroom and began ordering small home surveillance cameras online. In my previous life, when Megan first came to work in our home as a housekeeper, I had wanted to install cameras, but Daniel felt it would be disrespectful to someone living under our roof. Honestly sometimes I wonder how mum keep up with her act especially in front of people, this woman would never call me anything other than Miranda when we’re alone but this is her fake caring in front of our guest. “This is Mrs. Calloway,” my father said, gesturing briefly. “Our new housemaid.” I nodded once. Then his gaze shifted slightly.

I loosened my tie and took of my jacket, finally. "What is it Emma?" "You hired a new maid?" Wasn't it obvious? I was certain she had already seen her. "Yes." My head was pounding still. "She'll be making your coffee now?" "Yes." I was getting annoyed.

After her in-laws wake up she has to collect their clothes and run the machine again. She wondered why the floor was not cleaned. Laya decided to give an earful to the maid. But the maid is nowhere to be seen. She asked the watchman about the maid when he replied he doesn't know she asked him to get her number or the reason for the absence. In the mansion, there was only a maid, gardener, and watchman. Laya felt that her mother-in-law was a miser. Even though she knew her father-in-law would stand at his wife's side. He would never say no to hiring the maids.

she said ushering me in while I trailed behind her slowly, I got into the mansion and was amazed by the sight in front of me, it was extremely beautiful, how can only one family live in such a big house??, I was really speechless, i kept on admiring the entire environment until we've gotten inside. the big royal door opened, ushering us in, the house was beyond beautiful, I tried as much as possible to maintain my composure as i scoured my eyes round the sitting room. As we approach the dinning room, we met a beautiful woman sitting in the dinning with a maid dressing her hair, the woman's face beamed in delight immediately she saw us coming, I guess she must be Madam Caroline.
