~HAZEL~ "I won't be long," he assures me, his eyes briefly meeting mine before he turns and steps deeper into the woods. He doesn't give me another chance to stop him, disappearing into the shadows as the sounds of his heavy footsteps fade. He ran after a rabbit before killing it. With his ass full, we lay under a tree getting some breeze when we sensed someone who wasn't supposed to be here. On alert, I took control and quickly changed when the man appeared behind me.

From the information I had already gathered about the location of the Old Woods, I still had quite a distance to cover. “Are you by any chance heading north?” I asked, hoping that my voice sounded trustworthy. I didn't need the man getting scared of me. The man nodded, dusting his hands, which were slightly caked with dirt. “Yes. But—” he looked me up and down—”I hope you're not going further than the creek right before the woods. There's been news of strange things happening there for years now.” “I'm well aware. I actually just want to get some herbs and I'll be on my way.”

My wolf cheers in my head jumping around excitedly, but I knew I was in uncharted territory and had to be incredibly careful with my moves. Ensuring that I keep my eyes snapping from one side of the woods to the other, I reach the very edge of the hill where I could look down to the other woods below. At first, all I could see was darkness and even more trees. But in between two of those gigantic trees was a man, it was much too dark for me to make out any of his features apart from one, his bright blue eyes. As soon as my eyes landed on his, it was as though the entire world came to a screeching halt and all that was left was me and this man. His eyes held so many emotions as he looked back

The muscles in his chest and shoulders flex as he pulls on a shirt, tugging it down over dark chest hair that trails down to his navel and down… further. I’ve never seen a man like him before. A man who can kill a hellhound with his claws and fangs. I’m used to being both predator and prey while in these woods. I’ve killed rogues. I’ve fended off rival packs’ people. Alpha Ryan might be the most dangerous thing in this forest right now. I doubt he’s ever been prey in his life. My eyes slowly slide back to the swirling pile of ash. “Are you hurt?” “No,” I whisper. I’m not sure he can hear the word. My throat aches, and my lungs burn.

I closed my eyes, in search of a good spot in his head to connect with his soul and just when I did I was finally able to. And just when I was able to, I felt a cold breeze around me and the smell of burnt wood filled the air immediately. Instantly I realized I was in the woods. The forest was dead silent besides the harsh breaths coming from the rogue man in front of me. All of a sudden, I heard multiple footsteps running around. In that moment I realized I was all alone in the woods. I turned left and right in search of where the footsteps were coming from. A warrior stepped forward out of the woods holding on to a weapon pointing to my direction.

CHAPTER FIVE Still pretending to sleep, the man suddenly opened the blanket! No, i'm busted! "I knew you're awake. Get up and drink coffee." He coldly said. I raised my eyebrows. "H-Hey, where am i?" I asked, trembling. I knew this is not fine. I'm afraid and really really scared. "You're in the woods." The man answered. Right, one question equals one answer.

My heart quickened, and I turned, following the invisible thread that drew me deeper into the forest. The trees closed in around me, their shadows long and foreboding in the moonlight. I moved faster, my breath coming in quick, shallow bursts. The pull grew stronger, guiding me through the maze of trunks and branches. My mind raced with possibilities. Who could it be? Was it someone I knew or a stranger? The anticipation was almost unbearable. Then, through the trees, I saw him. An older man, his figure stooped and frail, wandering through the forest. His clothes were tattered, and his hair was a wild tangle of white. He looked out of place, a relic from another time, lost and alone.

After she left, I made my way to the library — the old one, filled with treasures forgotten by time. My fingers danced along the spines of dusty tomes. Until one ignited beneath my touch. I pulled it free. No title adorned its cover. Inside, arcane symbols fluttered across the pages, cryptic yet familiar. And then, just like that, I was no longer in the library. I found myself standing in a forest. White trees crowded around me under a black sky. The blood-red moon loomed low, casting its eerie light onto the snow below. And there, at the heart of this surreal tableau, stood a man.

this forest used to have the most terrible reputation over the years , even mom feared it , they said no animal can walk within it , it's lifeless , you hear no bird chirping ,no nothing at all , just the wind whistle throught the leaves of dead trees ,it is more like screams here and there rather than whistles , and to mention that I started to hear some familiar sound , I would say a unique wind whistle , so different from what I have been hearing , I knew it wasnot like the others, it was hollow but deep yet so sad like crying young woman, I passed through some fallen woven Walls of climbing trees and went inside it to see it clearly , it seemed like an abandoned oasis and yeah the same
