I went back to the garden and took my phone with me then proceeded to go into my room. I flopped myself onto my bed and felt really exhausted as the fatigue started to catch up with me. She was so busy enjoying the candy floss that she didn’t even notice the act of Imogen.

Then I remembered where I was - The tournament. It was the Maze of Runes. "Move!" Cael shouted. The rest of the team moved forward immediately. We started running. I followed them deeper into the maze while Jessie ran beside me. Her breathing was uneven from the sprint, but her eyes were shining with excitement. "That was insane," she said. I shook my head "I wasn't even sure it would work." "But it did." I glanced back briefly. The first chamber was already sealing itself behind us. The massive stone door slowly closed with a loud sound that echoed throughout the maze. I noticed as silver symbols rearranged themselves across the surface then they vanished completely.

They mocked me and said I was living in a fantasy. Laughed at the idea that I still saw myself as Lloyd's golden boy. They called me an idiot. Because everything that happened to me was with the Lloyds' and Liliana's blessing! I woke up from that nightmare, shivering all over. … I needed water, something to calm my nerves. That's when I saw Janet sneaking out, helmet in hand, ready for another midnight ride. I pretended not to notice and kept pouring my drink. However, Janet stopped and came over.

Just as the walls were about to close in completely, they made it out, tumbling into another corridor, panting and out of breath. They didn’t stop to catch their breath for long, though. The realization was slowly dawning on them all. “The maze is alive,” Maya whispered, her voice barely audible. “It’s shifting, changing. That’s why no one has ever escaped. It’s designed to trap us.” Nathan swallowed, his face pale. “How do we escape something like that?” Tanaka looked grim as he wiped the sweat from his brow. “We don’t know. But we keep moving forward. The map still shows us the center, and we stick to the plan.”

I couldn't see any of the participants or even the crowd that had gathered to watch us in sight. Because the Arena was built in such a way that many of the surroundings were partitioned with shrubs. Also, there was a Maze closest to where we had gathered for the announcement. Perhaps some of the students were in it. I hadn't gone through because I couldn't navigate my way through mazes. I hadn't learnt the scope yet, so I didn't want to get lost. I wonder if Vesper went in there as well. Shaking my head to get rid of his thoughts and concentrate on what was before me, I started my journey.

Madam Olga announced and two students in black uniforms showed up and led them towards the maze. They got to the front of a huge hall and the doors opened. It was a room built like a maze for training. The timer started and everyone got in and started to hide. “Okay, just stay behind me,” Alessa said to the kids who held onto her tightly. “Do you know what you are doing?” one of the kids asked. A girl. “No,” Alessa replied honestly and sighed. “Come on,” she said and slowly walked in with them. She tried her best to protect the kids as she walked around the maze. The lights were dimmed which made it harder for them to see.
