DIXIE THUMBED THROUGH THE book, the group's conversation washing over her. Book club night usually energized her. It was a bi-monthly opportunity to be in a room full of women she counted as friends. They'd selected a paranormal book this time, and though Dixie had tried she just couldn't get into it. Hear head and heart were stuck in the real world and no amount of sexy werewolf shifter could fix that. Shonda leaned over and gestured at Dixie's plate. "Are you done with your dinner?"

One year later The bi-annual matchmaker’s party was in full swing as the newest members of the club mingled about with the olders ones. Most were interns looking for mentorship oppurtunities, and some had just broken into the world of the elite looking for guidance. There were also some wedding planners roaming about, getting their exposure and making connections. The Billionaire’s Matchmaking Club was an instant success, more so than Hugo and I had ever anticipated. The two of us stood at the balcony of the HQ’s mansion, looking down into the garden with rose champagne in our hands.

In fact, I can't wait to devour it. When is it coming out? I go online on my laptop to check. Next year? I have to wait that long? Now, this is just torture. I allow myself to simmer in my frustration for a minute. If only I had someone to talk to about this book, I'd probably feel better faster, but I don't. It's sad, really. The only thing sadder than finishing a book is not having anyone to discuss it with. That's why book clubs were invented.

Everyone agrees, and they spend the next hour debating which book to choose. The group decides to read "Neverwhere," a novel that takes place in a fantastical version of London. They're all eager to dive into the story, and Hazel feels a sense of pride in bringing them together like this. She loves her job and the community it has helped her build. When the book club meeting is over, the members linger in the library, reluctant to part ways.
