(AUTHOR'S POV) THREE YEARS LATER… The sun beat down brightly on the massive, golden stone walls of the Dark Hearts Palace. The grand courtyard was filled with the sound of bright, high-pitched laughter and the frantic scuffling of tiny feet. Three little three-year-old girls were sprinting across the smooth grass, dragging a pile of colorful plush toys between them.
