So, stay hyped! ********* When I was ten, I drowned in the pool up in my parents penthouse. I was their only child and their heir, so they couldn't leave me for dead. When they performed the ritual that brought me back to life, they suddenly didn't want me alive either.

88 Noah. I heard the raven before I saw it. A low rustle of feathers, a heavy thud against the windowsill, and then silence. Unnatural and waiting silence. I stood in the library, one hand still on the old map spread across the table, the other clenching slightly. I didn’t rush to the window. I didn’t need to. I already knew what it was. The raven was bleeding. Its wing dragged behind it, bent unnaturally. One eye looked glassy, the other still watching me. Even before I pulled back the latch and let it in, I could smell the faint tinge of silver in the blood. Not enough to kill it but enough to send a message.

Raven whispered, her voice trembling. She picked up the first letter. The handwriting was elegant, slanted. "To my little bird," Raven read aloud. "If you are reading this, the shadows have already grown long. They will tell you I am dead. They will tell you a wolf took my life. They will use my death to plant hatred in your heart, because hatred is the only thing that can feed the First Hunger." Raven looked up at Jax. Jax’s face was white. He looked like he had seen a ghost.

“Oh, you can talk. That's great. Wow…uhm…my name is Tana. Actually, Thomasina, but it's not the 80s anymore, nobody uses that…” I watched as she continued talking and giggling. She might look strange, but it didn't seem like she would hurt me. My body began to relax. “I'm sorry, I've been babbling non-stop.” she laughed. “So Eloise, how did you get to Thornwood? Were you chased by a Hollowborn?” her face turned serious as she said the last word. The only word I understood was Thornwood. It was where all the werewolves lived. I've studied the map of Thornwood several times with Mae in the library that I had every place committed to memory.

Raven’s POV The air turned heavy the moment his words left his lips. Raven Kincade. My name. The name I buried. The name that was supposed to stay dead. My crew looked between me and him, confusion sparking in their eyes, but I didn’t flinch. Ghost does not flinch. I leaned back on the couch, crossing my legs slowly, letting the silence stretch until it became awkward. “And why,” I said, my voice coldly, “would the great Alpha of the Iron Howlers come crawling to rogues for help?”

he murmurs, “I’ll have to clean up your mess myself.” The wind dies abruptly. The trees go still. Raven stands trembling, staring at the woods as if something inside them is staring back. Emily grips her arm. “Raven, we need to move. Now.” But Raven can’t move. Because deep in the shadows, between the trunks.... a figure steps forward. Hooded. Silent. Watching her. The same figure from her dream. Her breath catches. The figure slowly raises a hand, its finger extending to point directly at her. It remains utterly still and silent, standing among the trees with its unyielding gaze fixed in her direction. The lady was surprised and confused when he suddenly cut her off. "Y-Yes? I think she placed it on her vanity area." He felt like he was being poured with a glass of cold water when his speculation was confirmed. Hyde remembered it when he went to the victim's vanity table. He remembered what it looked like. A bird darker than a crow, and usually eats flesh from dead animals. A bird that means DEATH... A CARRION CROW.

Raven, a sixteen year old girl, walked home from her part-time job at the library. She felt as if someone was watching her. She looked around the near empty streets, seeing nothing. Raven picked up her speed. She should have been home hours ago, but she had gotten caught up in a mystery novel, losing track of time. Her parents will be furious with her once she gets home.
