She raised her hand to hit him but was surprised as he held her hand and pushed her backward with his other hand. She had hit her back against the wall while she prevented her head from doing the same, the stern note in Alex's voice meant nothing to her, she thought to herself while she stood up. "Take her to the darkroom". She heard Alex instruct the guards. "You won't dare, I remain the Luna and there's nothing you can do about that". She shouted at the top of her voice. "I'm sorry Catherine, but not anymore". She wasn't sure if she had heard a chuckle in his voice but it sounded like he was happy with the decision he had made.

Only a void that felt like it was swallowing her whole. Luna’s legs gave out. She dropped to her knees in the cold snow, not caring that her dress was getting wet and dirty. Not caring that everyone was watching. The rejection hurt more than any beating she’d ever received in the past five years. More than any insult. More than any cold night she’d spent sleeping on the floor because the packhouse had no room for a wolfless omega. Luna turned and ran. She didn’t care that she was running in the middle of a sacred ceremony. She didn’t care that pack law said she should kneel and accept the rejection with dignity. She didn’t care that running would only make her look more pathetic.

They never do when I’m paying attention. The surface of the basin before me shimmered, dark at first, then slowly clearing, layers peeling back until the world revealed itself. The village came first. I stayed there only a moment. I already knew what I’d done. The bodies were where they were meant to be. Then she stepped into view and when I looked closely, I saw her eyes and knew she was the new Luna. I laughed out loud, “welcome to death pool child.” If only she knew Lunas don't survive, she'd leave and become a disposed Luna on her own accord.

Elias roared as he knew she would be asking another question if he did not put an end to this conversation. "I'm the Luna and you have to obey me or you'll be punished for disobedience, you think I'm weak because I'm a woman. I'm the Luna of this pack so accord me with respect, I deserve it" Reyna roars as Elias cackles; "You want to punish me?"

Elena was silent, and now her eyes were glazed over, but her lips did not stop, as if she were challenging, “Just do it; you will never win!” “Never mind, mom. Let's just get out of here, it's useless for our eyes and mouths to be polluted by these two rejected Luna's.” Sofia said with a sardonic look. Camille immediately replied, “Failing to become a Luna does not mean I will fail to expose all your secrets and rottenness in front of all the members of the Shadow Moon pack, they will definitely be shocked by your manipulative attitude, Miss. Elena and Miss. Sofia, honorable!”

She had known it was going to happen, she had foreseen it, but even so, she was not prepared for it. This day never should’ve come, it never should’v~ “I’m sorry Quinn, but I; Jeovanni Lum rejects you; Quinn Felon as my mate. You’re no longer Luna of this pack, nor are you my fated mate. Accept my rejection.” His words awakened the pain within Quinn, and she fell to her knees, crying out when it became too much to bear…she didn’t want to, but if she didn’t accept his rejection, she’d die.

The Moon Rejection Rite was set for three days later at the Moon Council altar on the border between Ironwood and Raven Hollow. The Council examiner, Alliance guards, and representatives from both packs were present. Because Cassian had continued refusing to accept the rejection, the Council classified the rite as a mandatory witnessed procedure.

"I, Sera Ashford, accept your rejection, Alpha Lupus." More gasps erupted from the crowd. Shame and fury burned inside me, but I kept my posture perfect. The moment the words left my mouth, the bond snapped completely. Lupus's expression flickered for just a fraction of a second. Something like a flash of regret passed through his eyes, but it vanished before anyone else could see it. "Good," he said flatly. "Now get out. Angela and I will be announced as Alpha and Luna at the next full moon. Do not embarrass yourself by showing up."

I said lowering my voice. “ You want me, you will get me but first reject me,” I added. “ Oh, do you think I don't know what game you are playing,” he chuckled. “ Reject the bond.” “ Or…… “ I, Louise Austin, Alpha of the blue heaven pack reject lily to be my mate and Luna of the pack. My body went stiff for a moment, I couldn't believe he said those words. A chilling sensation spread through my heart. “ I, Lily Anderson, accept your rejection to be your mate and Luna of the blue heaven pack,” a painful groan left our mouths as I felt on the floor gasping for air and he took a few steps away from me.

My lungs shuddered, and then I completely broke. ​I slid down the trunk into the mud, pulling my knees to my chest as tears poured down my face. I pressed a trembling hand over my mouth to muffle the sound. ​There was no one around, but a stubborn part of me still remembered I was a Luna. Lunas did not sob helplessly in the dirt. Lunas did not crawl. Lunas did not beg. Lunas endured. ​Except... I wasn't a Luna anymore.
