There were Vampires, shapeshifters, witches, banshees, sirens, kitsunes, and nogitsunes, who were dark kitsunes. It was a lot to absorb but they spent their time learning about the other creatures. The battle that was going on was between the shapeshifters and the other creatures. The shapeshifters wanted to be the ones in charge of the supernatural world, they wanted to eradicate the rest of the creatures. Even though they could shift into any anima, human, or supernatural creature, if they become a supernatural creature, they do not get the power of that creature.

“What were those things?” “Shapeshifters,” Caelum said, wiping the blood from his blade. “Wolves who have turned to the shadows. They serve the Council’s enemies.” Sera’s mind raced. The creatures they had just fought were only the beginning. The real fight was yet to come. But for now, they had survived. And that was enough.
