Annalise is 21 and in college with her two best friends and her sister. She is starting her last year off on a good start. She is one grade ahead of her average age. She is studying art and wants to be the best she can be. She is assigned a partner for her last big assignment, Theo Hyde. He is the guy she has had a crush on for years, but he is also her best friend's ex-boyfriend. She tries to focus on the project, but her feelings keep getting in the way.

THEA’s POV Andrea Beckett stared at me looking like a trapped hawk ready to claw. "How do you know my name?" she asked again, her voice cold. I stood up slowly, dusting off my grey scrubs. "I know a lot of people in our circle, Andrea. My name is Thea. Thea Vane. Well... I was a Sterling before the wedding." The second the name Sterling left my lips, Andrea’s face changed. The kindness from my panic attack vanished. She stepped back, her lip curling in a sneer.

How can I leave a person who is part of Purple Hill alone, especially when she can’t defend herself? I may be shameless, Anya, but I am not a monster.’ I looked at Thea and despite the situation that we’re in, I can’t help but admire her dedication to our pack. She really deserves to be part of the Elite Warrior.

When I left, Thea wiped her eyes once, then returned to her preparations. Ready to save lives. Or ease passing. Both, probably. "Your daughter is remarkable. You would be so proud." Then she got back to work. No time for grief. Ten minutes left.

Thea didn’t really want to die just because Anthony was pissed off at Ted.
