Choosing Fate
She holds my face between her hands, examining my eyes.
I guess it’s a relief to know my eyes are still orange. My eyes are my favorite feature.
“He was stabbed in the heart with a golden blade, Yaya,” Richard says, making Yaya turn her head swiftly. I shift my gaze to look at him.
“But, you saved me. I survived somehow,” I mutter, wracking my brain to figure out how I survived. A golden blade to my heart should have killed me instantly.
“You’re not a full witch, or warlock,” Tobias says, or some demonic version of him. His eyes are now black, and his voice is no longer upbeat. He sounds like he has smoke trapped in his lungs.
