♠ Traè, Thames Empire. As/A: 3088. Motionless and lost in a shallow reverie, the young lad's head heaves high, as he stares into the darkening clouds and the bowing golden sun. The thoughts of nothingness lingers through his mind. His fist clenches in anger, and his shoulders shudder in fear. The world he knew made sense, but his present reality was a lamp dwelling within a bushel: hidden, obscure and dangerous.

We didn't let the darkness win. END OF VOLUME ONE

I try to hold on to something. Anything. But everything is slipping. Darkness creeps in, slow but steady. I can’t move. I can’t speak. I can barely think. I’m done. Zara… It’s on her now.

The darkness seemed to be closing in on me, threatening to swallow me whole. I knew that I should be doing something, anything to distract myself from the despair that I was feeling. But I couldn't bring myself to move, to do anything at all. It was as if I was paralyzed, trapped in a never-ending nightmare. The darkness seemed to be closing in tighter, like a noose around my neck. I couldn't escape it, no matter how hard I tried. And so, I remained there, lost in the darkness, drowning in my own despair.

"Fine, I'll go. I want to see what tricks she's up to!" Yoel stormed off, heading back to the basement. My soul floated behind him, following his steps. Back in that dark, damp room, I shivered. Even as a soul, the fear of being imprisoned was still deeply ingrained in my mind.

Not that one could see much of it anyway, but it had gotten so dark. “Yeah, which is why I thought it best to get the fire going.” Jake knew he should say anything to feel the void, but he didn’t know what. She pretty much summed up everything before leaving the room. And as he thought about it, his eyes glanced back at the couch, and he cursed himself. “How long do you think this will last?” Jake stood up and walked next to her, resting his arm on the frame of the window as he looked out. His eyes glanced upward at the clouds, unable to even distinguish anymore between the sky or the clouds at this point.

I was trapped in a never-ending loop of darkness, with no escape in sight. But I refused to give up, refused to let the duplicate win. I focused all my energy, all my willpower, on one thought, one goal. Escape. And as the darkness closed in, I felt a spark of hope, a spark of determination. I would escape, I would fight, and I would win. As I fell, the darkness seemed to pulse around me, like a living, breathing thing. I felt it seeping into my pores, filling me with a cold, calculating logic. I tried to scream, but my voice was trapped, frozen in my throat.

Everything went dark. ******

Letta didn't recognize the very dark room. "Where am I?" Letta asked, trying to recall the last time she was conscious. Letta vividly remembered enjoying the waterfall with Marco, and afterward, Marco instructed someone to take her away. And that's when Letta widened her eyes upon realizing she was in danger. Letta knew that the guards were not Marco's guards. Letta tried to get off the very hard bed, then walked to knock on the iron door, which seemed to be a confinement room. "Please open up! Get me out of here!" Letta yelled, continuously pounding on the door, making her voice echo outside, until she could see a gap in the door.

"Come, let's go before someone tries to snatch you away from me." "I'm sorry if you feel like being neglected by me, babe." She sighed as she hugged him. "I won't do that again..." He hugged her back tightly. "No matter what you want to do. Rest assured that I will always be here to support you, babe. You know how much I love you..." he whispred in her ears. "I guess being TRAPPED IN SHACKLES with you isn't as bad as I thought..." she laughed. "And I'm lucky to get TRAPPED IN SHACKLES with you. Thank you for bringing out the best in me..."
