Amara nodded, her confidence returning. She glanced at the clock on the wall and sighed. “I just wish she’d hurry up. This waiting is unbearable.”
“Patience,” I said smoothly, though inwardly, I was just as eager to see this play out. “Good things come to those who wait. And besides,” I added, raising my teacup in a mock toast, “we should celebrate. Today marks the end of Anita’s interference and the beginning of your reign as Luna.”
