Willow For the second time in what seemed like forever, I gently peeled my eyes open. Unlike the last time, this one didn't hurt. If there was anything that felt weird, it was how heavy my eyelids were. The more I tried to keep it up, the more the weight seemed to want to press my eyes shut. A wave of panic washed over me immediately. Why? Why did I always have to wake up in the worst possible ways? If I wasn't trying desperately to feel my bones, I would be trying to keep my eyes open. This was only the second time, but I was fed up.

I could sense his concern, his confusion, his growing alarm as he became aware of my distress. No, no, no. I couldn't let them see me like this. Couldn't let them know about the dream. About what I might become. I stumbled toward the washbasin, desperate to clean the blood from my arms before anyone saw. But my reflection in the small mirror above it made me freeze. My eyes weren't quite right. They were still brown, but there were flecks of red in the irises that definitely hadn't been there before. And my skin looked pale, almost translucent, with dark circles under my eyes that made me look like I hadn't slept in weeks.

I'd just sleep here for an hour and go in much later when my body feels relaxed. My eyes were scanning the wrapped item and slowly drifting off to sleep. I closed my eyes softly. Drifting off to sleep fast. I hadn't slept for too long when the alarm's rustling sound woke me up. I sat up abruptly, rubbing my eyes to be sure it wasn't a damn dream and it was really morning. My eyes are fixed on the wall clock. Past nine. “Shit”. I rushed towards the shower, got out hurriedly, and did a light makeup to cover my swollen eyeballs and pale lips. I grabbed my car keys while still wearing my left heels, grabbing my bag from the bed.

Exhaustion was visible on Sean’s face while his bloodshot eyes were filled with hatred as he coldly demanded, “Say it again—have you ever wronged me?!” Myra clenched her fist and she forced herself to shake her head. Sean’s expression instantly became gloomy. “Alright. Just as you wished.” His hatred appeared again in her dream, which finally woke her up with a start. She sat on the bed, hugging the blanket while panting heavily. The clock showed that it was 4:00AM in the morning, but she could no longer fall asleep. When she woke up the next morning, there was a layer of dark circles under her eyes, which could barely be concealed even with the thick layer of foundation.

I felt super sick the next morning, I was throwing up like crazy. Jesse opens the door and rushes towards me, He touches my forehead "You have a fever?". I don't say anything "must be because of all the crying, I'll call a doctor, go back to bed and rest, I'll have the maid get your breakfast". He rushes out and bangs the door. Sometimes I wish I could see my reflection, to see how I look, to see what I look like, to know exactly what's wrong with me.

When I woke up this morning I felt the morning light sharp and unwelcoming against my skin. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, it was like seeing a stranger with tight lips and shadowed eyes, I had dark circles, my hair was a mess, My eyes were still a bit red, and the mark on my cheek was still visible, I washed my face and applied some foundation and make up to cover it up.

I woke up at seven in the evening. l touched my face it was wet. I fell asleep while crying. Stepping down from my bed I went to the bathroom. After washing my face I glared at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes were swollen and red. My face looked like a pumpkin.

I have to close my eyes until they adjust. After turning off the persistent alarm on my phone inside my purse, I head to the bathroom. The horrible image that the mirror returns fills me with surprise, it's the first time in my life I've seen such a mark on my body! My right eye is completely black, its interior very red; my lips are so swollen I can barely speak; two blue spots are marked on each side of my face. Tears start flowing again while I feel like the most despised and wretched woman in the world.

I watch the more bags were filled up with blood and just as black dots connect in my vision. I slowly wish my life will end as well.

I feel the warm sun on my face. It should have been a nice feeling, but that mixed with how thirsty I am and I just feel like I’m baking. Turning my head from the sunlight, I slowly open my eyes. My brain is buzzing painfully as if it was full of angry fire ants. I stare at an unfamiliar wall. My thoughts are sluggish. I blink and open my eyes wide to wake myself up and focus. Something isn’t right. I don’t feel right.
