We had lost more, but I couldn’t bring myself to ask. Endora simply laughed as she carried on chanting, but we had no time to focus on her when an influx of Wendigos came running. I turned, sparing a quick glance at the watch on my wrist. Seven minutes… in seven minutes, we would take our chance. I blasted a Wendigo back, my purple flames incinerating it. I stepped back as another two lunged at me. "Seriously, don’t they ever run out!" Liam growled, as he jumped in front of me, snapping the first one’s head off before he tore the other one's heart out.

I left the volume that I was reading and came over and took a look. “Is that it?” I asked, I had never seen it before, only Damon had. “Yes,” he nodded and tapped his finger on the picture of the monster. I looked at the name – it was called a Wendigo! “A wendigo,” I muttered. “That’s the fucker…” he said. “What’s this down here?” I pointed to the description printed at the bottom, and read. “Wendigo are dead cursed wolves, their souls are trapped in their body and they are vengeful. The curse can only be broken by the Blood of a Goddess.”

Preparing to attack again, I focused all my energy on Chris as Kim and the others went after the guards and Trinity. Fixing my gaze on Chris’ irritated face, I prepared to move, but stopped as a loud screech filled the air, echoing all around us. Confusion surged through me as I looked around, trying to determine what had made such a terrible noise. However, when I located the source, I felt my blood turn to ice. Five large skeletal creatures with glowing red eyes and razor-sharp teeth began to make their way towards us. Fuck, Davison was actually bringing his wendigos into the fight.

“Turning packs into Wendigos. That purple liquid—it was Wolfsbane!” “Bingo!” Gusev chimed, still running. Creed growled, “I’ll kill you the moment we’re out!” “Not if the Wendigos get you first!” Gusev cackled. Four Wendigos, relentless, tore after us. Ace and Creed were strong, but even together, they weren’t enough. Then—Kira stirred. Her voice was hoarse but steady. “Stop.” We all turned, still running. “I had a vision,” she said.
