Bound by Voices
When they reached the edge of the valley, the mist parted—and for a moment, the horizon shimmered blue and gold, pulsing like a heartbeat.
> “It’s calling,” she whispered.
> “Then let’s answer,” Adrian said.
They started down the road.
Behind them, in the chapel they’d left, a candle they hadn’t lit flickered suddenly alive.
Its flame bent toward the window, as though watching them go.
And faintly, just before the door swung shut, the world’s voice murmured—
> Hurry. We’re remembering too fast.
