He left the room. A fierce winter covered the forests with heavy snow-clusters and icicles, and filled ravines to their edges with drifts, so that the whole land seemed a single white plain. Great, sudden storms came, in which men and herds were lost under the pall of snow; roads grew misleading and perilous. A lonely Jaweldur howled in the distance.

The world around me seemed hushed, draped in an ethereal shroud of silence that only winter's arrival could bestow. My senses were tantalized by the aroma that hung heavy in the crisp air—a symphony of snowflakes, each one a delicate note contributing to the grand composition of nature's breath. This was a fragrance unique to winter, a blend of cold purity and untamed wilderness. The snow-laden ground and the towering sentinels of the forest seemed to hold their breath, waiting for the world to awaken from its frozen slumber.

She didn't stop there. She walked out of the room where Zel was still on the floor and Raine was waiting impatiently. Sweat was breaking from Zel's forehead. "Hold on just a bit longer," Cinder told her. She lifted the skirt of her dress, revealing the brown boot she had on. She dragged her right leg out and drew an invisible arc with her foot. "Take down the protection on the decoy house," Cinder instructed. Zel exhaled and I assumed she did just that.

Tamsin knew it couldn’t be a coincidence that the fires wouldn’t light. It struck him suddenly, the answer. Cinder. The Witch Queen’s consort. He was master of flame and hearth, a nasty little bastard from the Winter Court, betrayer of his own kind, former consort of Queen Mab. Slick and charming, clever and without scruples, Cinder was the one who brought human tithes to the Dain. If he had River, she was in very real danger.

*Winter* The air was thick with dread, a palpable tension that clung to me like an unwelcome shroud. Each strained breath felt heavier than the last, weighed down by the ominous atmosphere surrounding the Whispering Reef. Walking side by side with Aaron, I couldn't shake the prickling sensation on the back of my neck. Was it just the chill of the winter air, or was there something far more sinister lurking just out of sight? The trees loomed tall and twisted, their gnarled branches reaching out like skeletal fingers against the bruised sky, casting everything in an unsettling shade of gray.

She would plait her hair and still looked stunning. She carried on with work and studies until it was time to write her final exams. She studied during the night while she was exhausted. Finally, she finished her studies and it was time for December holidays. She went to spend Christmas with her family. She carried on being the skivvy to her stepsisters. They would party all the weekends and she was supposed to cook and clean for them. She was used to that and there was no time to complain. No one would be on her side anyway.

It is a trading company. Today I have the Winter. co and several affiliated companies all over the country. Several properties and factories, hotels, and stores. And the best part is no one can find out it’s me who owns them. The companies are owned by Kian and Alex Winter, but because they are minors I am their Guardian, but there is no trace of me when anyone looking into the company. I am simply an employee from the outside. My most trusted employees and my lawyers know of course how it is.

Then I think about another question. "What is your favorite season?" "Winter." He said. I smiled, "Copycat. Mine is winter also." I said.
