I take my baby and kiss her chubby cheeks. “You, little Lizzy, aren’t you gonna congratulate mom?” I press my nose to her nose, and she grabs a handful of my hair and coos. “Thank you, babe. Where are the others?” I search for my extended family. “They’re waiting for us in their car. Let’s go. Give me my girl.” He offers his hand to take Lizzy.

That gave us plenty of time to make our wishes. Closing my eyes and taking hold tightly of Chase’s hand, we hold our joined hands up shoulder level and I silently make my wish. I wish for Chase to always be by my side and to make more happy memories like we have done today for the rest of our lives. I just hope he feels the same way. He did tell me earlier that I am his and he is mine for as long as I will allow it. But what if I never want it to end?

I finally find my voice, a laugh acctually tears from my throat. “Donate you a wish?” I repeat. “Hilda, the stone gives only three wishes. I gave one to Tedmold another to the Emporer, I'm keeping one for myself. There is nothing left to donate.”

I sniffed again, feeling like I won against the strongest wolf in our kingdom. He waved his hand in the air, and suddenly, a soft golden glow surrounded us. “How about I grant you a wish to make up for it?” My eyes went wide. “A wish? Really? Like, a real wish?” “Yep,” he said with a lazy smile. “One wish. Anything your little heart desires. But make it quick, I have places to be.” I thought about it for a moment, my mind was rushing me. A wish! Anything! I could wish for all the butterflies in the world, or the biggest cake ever, or—

Nothing to worry about,” I said, pulling my hand away and trying not to fall for the sudden kindness in his touch. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about these brothers, it’s that they’re unpredictable. One moment they’re warm, and the next, ice cold. Still, it’s hard to control how I feel around them.

Well he told Anthony, but not me and Amara. I was sitting in the kitchen at the bar, eating a salad when Anthony came up behind me and squeezed my shoulder.
