Raven’s POV “Mumma Raben! Daddy said we can gibe you your pwesent!” Phoenix runs straight into my legs when my mates and I walk downstairs to join everyone for breakfast. “A present?” I question, watching her eagerly nod before taking off to the living room where Ares leans over the edge of a wooden crate like he is grabbing something. “She found something for you on our hunt,” Benjamin mentions with a cheeky grin, coming out of the kitchen, he hands me a cup of coffee as I feel Embry’s hands slip around my waist.

She always ran away from reading. I walked over to the shelves, carefully grazing my fingers over the binded pages, taking all the words in. Then there was a specific one that piqued my interest. “What's this?” I pulled it out as the words on the cover page caught my eye. The Legend of the Arctic Wolf “Ah, this one's a masterpiece, my favorite of all,” Xavier said, looking at the book in my hand. “Really? What's it about?”

Soren asked, looking confused. "I do not know what happened, but I woke up this morning with a naked woman in my bed, and she had a wedding band on," Xavier said, showing us his ring finger. "She has a certificate with my name on it too. I took it from her and wanted to rip it, but I know it will be pointless because she will just have another one printed," he said, pulling out a folded A4 paper from His pocket. I did not need to guess what it was. He handed the paper to Soren, and his eyes bulged.

But when he didn’t, I hesitated. This feels way too illegal. But the pay .... Besides, I could do this one thing, get my money, and be gone… right? I mean how bad can what I'm hacking be? I made a choice. "Yes. Yes, I can," I said finally. "Wonderful," Xavier said, amusement dancing in his eyes. He moved to the door and opened it with graceful precision. "After you, Raven." I walked ahead, silently praying not to trip. Don’t be clumsy, Emily. Get a grip.

That was when I saw it. An opening. Covered in vines and tucked between two thick walls of climbing roses, it looked like something out of a fairytale. I pushed through, breath catching in my throat. A small, hidden garden opened before me. Flowers bloomed in quiet colors, a small stone bench sat near a shallow pond. It was peaceful… almost magical. And in the center stood Xavier. Black shirt, sleeves rolled up, hands in his pockets, jaw tight. My breath hitched. "No greetings?" I asked, arms folded. "You just tell me to come and expect me to—"

“Do you want to come along?” I freeze. This is unexpected. Suspiciously unexpected. “Why? Are you suddenly feeling guilty, Mr. Graham?” “Do I have any reason to?” he asks, voice steady, unbothered, like he’s discussing stock prices. Diana’s POV I spend half the day in my room, buried in the new fantasy book I’ve been obsessing over. Honestly, the book is the only reason I haven’t overthought my entire existence in this house. That, and the free Wi-Fi that is probably fast enough to power a small country.

For now, that was the best thing they could do for each other. Xavier headed to the kitchen to grab some coffee. His hands scanned the shelf just below the stairs where his large piano was placed. He picked up a random book, heading back to the counter. Xavier tried to focus on the book he was reading but he couldn't with Aveline's steps roaming the hallways. He marched up, reaching within a few strides. Aveline hands her hands in her curls scanning the door desperately. “Looking for something?” Xavier asked, hiding his irritation. She wore a strawberry printed milkmaid and some red shorts a little below the thighs. Her curls fell roughly against her shoulder.

"Nope." "But how did you know that boy was Rex?" My face heats up, and I look away to calm myself. If Ares knew that, I know that when Rex and I get intimate, I see a mole on his buttocks, and he will hide from me. I knew Rex was the boy because of the mole. When he saved me, he and I spent time together. While changing out of his suit, I went to look for him and sneaked into the changing room, where I spotted him putting on his swimming trunks and accidentally saw his mole.

Doors start opening and students start pouring out of the classrooms they're setting up in. Xavier grabs my hands and starts running. I try to resist but he's stronger than me and keeps pulling me with him. I give up and follow him, hoping that Derrick is not at the end of wherever we're going to. Xavier leads me down to the library and opens a small room near it with a key. Of course he has keys to places in the school. Instead of a plush room with Arabic furniture and designs, the room is a supply closet. Xavier locks the door and turns on a lamp that illuminates the room. His dark eyes meet mine and I see the anger in them.
