All I can do is watch. And it’s torture. Salcom pulls her toward the center of the room where it sits… the real Moon’s Tear . The bottle rests on a pedestal carved from obsidian, its surface smooth but etched with ancient markings that glows faintly, like the sun but not as bright. The Moon's Tear itself is contained in a crystal-clear glass, the liquid inside glowing with an otherworldly light that almost hurts to look at. It’s small, just a vial, really, but it radiates power so immense, so untouchable, it feels like the guards themselves are holding their breath.

I asked, curious eyes fixed on Ignis. Ignis, with closed eyes, took a deep breath before answering. “It's a way for us to connect with the Moon Goddess, Zora. We strengthen our bonds with her.” I looked at the full moon above us and, with a sad expression, questioned: “But the Moon Goddess hates me.” Ignis opened her eyes and gazed at me with compassion. “Why do you think that, little one?” “It's obvious,” I murmured. “If she loved me, I would have been born as a boy.”

I looked at her with my eye’s begging her to save me from this endless pit of choices for my crowning. “I don’t know.” I said with a sigh while turning to the designer. “What would you suggest? My mate is planning on my crowning for the blood moon in one month.” I finished watching as the wheels in his talented head turned. “Miss Black, I would suggest this emerald green. It matches your mates’ eyes and represents one of the main elements, earth, which are said to be strongest on the blood moon.” He pulled the most beautiful delicate looking fabric I had ever seen out of his bag.

I shifted it up, but when I pushed it into the middle, it locked in place, that the wolf’s eyes turned purple like glowing purple gems had been embedded in it. “Holy shit…” Trent whispered. The more lines of the poem I or Amos remembered, the easier assembling and moving the pieces around came. To the east, was the image of Shell Cove. Beneath that sections waves went a gilded, sparkling image of Atlantis and a swimming figure of Poseidon and his son, Triton. Above that was an image of the sky, complete with each phase of the moon. Each piece looked like it had been carved from moonstone.

And I knew he disliked me already. Enzo turned to me. In his palms rested the Luna ring, forged from a single perfect moonstone that was so rare that the goddess delivered it herself, Legend said it had once belonged to the first Luna of Silverfang, the one who wove the original protection spell they said she could see Selene and talk to her.

I asked her. “What’s what?” I stood up and moved the towel from her neck and there it was, as clear as day. A bright red triple moon emblem, just like symbol of the Moon Goddess. When Zee was unconscious after her attack, I remember seeing a pale pink crescent moon on the back of her neck. But this is different, the colour is darker and its grown. That’s not a usual birth mark. “What is it?” Zee asked, “It's uh, well, I don’t know what it is” I stuttered.

The object of their contention was no ordinary relic; it was said to hold the secrets to unlocking immense power, a power that could elevate one clan to supremacy over the others. The Moonstone Clan, led by the formidable Maryjane, an alpheno six-tailed werewolf, possessed the power of Selene, the supreme moon goddess. Her presence exuded an ethereal glow, her eyes shimmering with lunar energy, and her movements imbued with the grace of the night sky. Maryjane's strength lay in her ability to manipulate the moon's power, channeling its restorative and destructive forces to her will.

“Before I go, I wanted to give you something. A small gift, I didn’t want to hand it over to my maid, I wanted to give you myself as a welcome gift.” She pulled out a small round moon. “The moon,” she said. “Isn’t it beautiful?” I took it hesitantly. “Oh wow, thank you, this is beautiful.” The moment my fingers touched the glass, a strange warmth radiated from it. Zarek stepped closer. “What is it made of?” “Just something I picked up from the eastern coven markets,” Evelyn said breezily. “Blessed by the moon goddess. Supposed to bring peace and strength.”

Jasmine crouched slightly. “This does not look ordinary,” she said, her gaze fixed on the marking. “It seems imbued with power.” Evans stepped closer and then his breath hitched. He could feel the energy from the marking, the scent felt familiar, but before he could think, his vision blurred. His body ached as explosive pain surrounded him and then he staggered. “Evans,” Ophelia said, while Jasmine straightened instantly. Then the clearing shifted. Evans’s brows furrowed and before he knew it, the clearing had changed.
