His wolf mirrored the same smugness, as though no one but him could ever be my mate. He turned to Amanda and said, with exaggerated sarcasm, “You’re mistaken, my Luna. I informed everyone through the pack-link, and lunged at Lucian, who had raised a gun towards the cell. Two guards were writhing on the ground. They were probably shot by them earlier. “Don’t do anything reckless, Ethan,” Dad yelled at me through pack-link, but it was too late. Lucian suddenly moved his gaze in my direction and smiled wickedly. His face twisted in anger, and he moved the gun in my direction. My heart thudded hard against my ribcage when I realized that I was straight in front of the gun. I flipped my enormous wolf body to avoid the shot.

The voice grew louder, scarier. "The groom is dead!! The groom is dead!!"

A long, dark red piece of intestine was still hanging from the corner of its torn mouth. "Roar!" The zombie let out an inhuman howl and dropped the piece of flesh in its hand before charging at Julian like a rabid animal. "Get away! Get away from me!" Julian was absolutely terrified and swung the kitchen knife wildly, hacking at the zombie's head. But long-term starvation had left him slow and weak. The slash missed the zombie's head and landed on its shoulder instead. With a crack, the rusty kitchen knife sank deep into the gap near the zombie's collarbone and stuck there.

I immediately pulled out the knife behind my leg and throw it at the werewolf attacking in front. I quickly glanced at the one who hasn’t transformed yet but he doesn’t even budge, he is just watching. I grabbed this chance to throw one of my knives but his reflex in a human form is greater than I thought. He caught the knife and stared at the engraved symbol. “The famous clan of Ambrose,” he muttered but I didn’t pay any attention because we are now being outnumbered by these monsters.
