" Okay . How long is the trip for? " " The trip is for 3 days I should be back in time for us to catch up and possibly have our first date because we haven't had our first date since we started going out together and so probably not Sunday because there's a match going on and you need to present but one day it'll make it four days." " I'll be thinking of you . " " Dido. Bye babe. "

I plugged in my phone and checked the countdown. 79 DAYS LEFT Seventy-nine was still a lot. Plenty of time for karaoke, swimming holes, bad movies, and whatever else I could talk Jay into. Tomorrow was karaoke. I couldn't wait.

“If you only plan on rejecting me in the end, you should do it now. I mean why should we prolong our agony when it would be what we will be going to do?” Gritting his teeth, he responded, "No. You wait for three months." "We're not lovers, but you're asking me for the three-month rule, Alpha Hugh. Fine. Let's not ruin the fun now and enjoy this night." I held my beer mid-air. "Cheers, Alpha Hugh." "There will be no rejection within the six months," he said. “But month after that, I don’t want to promise anything, Autumn.” I nodded. "Alright. Fine."

"So what happens now? Practically." "We stay the fifty days," I said. "Not because of the council vote. Because Elder Thaddeus set those terms and I respect them and honestly—" I paused. "Honestly, I think you need them. Not for me. For yourselves. You're becoming better men here. I don't want to cut that short." Seth made a sound that might have been a surprised laugh. "You're keeping us here for our own good," he said. "Someone has to." Zane smiled. Actually smiled—not the small controlled version but a real one. "Forty-seven more days." "Forty-seven more days," I confirmed.

No, two evidences still, but heavier. Two beds decision done. Long first stays mansion 7 days, then moves. Chubby queen stays Bronx 7 days, then takes mansion. Today 14 weeks 4 days Day 3 of 7 in Bronx. Tomorrow 14 weeks 5 days Day 4 of 7. Phone off 7:15 AM. Pink crop top on. Mango hard. Rusted gate waiting.

Day 27 Thirty three days to go. Time was ticking faster than usual, rubbing the number inscribed on her palm, her ringing phone snapped her out of her thoughts. She didn’t want to pick the call—there was no point, she already knew who it was. Ever since she left her house that day, Eleanor hadn’t stopped calling her. She knew she had to speak to her at some point, but she still needed space to digest the revelation.

Once Aiden makes up his mind, the rest of us just have to listen. “Fine. What is it?” I asked. He looked me dead in the eye. “If you’re going to bend the rules, do it right. We start from scratch and now we make it 90 days.” I blinked, assuming I had misheard him. “90 days? What do you even mean, start from scratch?” “You changed the deal, so the timeline resets. None of the past days count anymore. We start counting from today and it’s 90 days now.”

“Why on earth do you think I will answer that?” “Gina stop, I am trying to be nice here,” I added. “Same here, I’m trying to be nice as possible as well.” “Let’s go out on a date this Saturday if you can give me a chance, I bet you, you are going to love me again, just give me thirty days.”

For the first time in a long while, the world didn’t feel so painfully suffocating. Thirty days. Just thirty days, and I would be completely free from this hell.
