came the curt reply.
Five minutes. The words echoed in the sudden stillness. Zeviar moved to my side, his hands cupping my face with a tenderness that belied the raw, unhealed ache in my jaw. He tilted my head, his gaze searching for mine, the way he always did when words felt inadequate. "Three hours," he finally murmured, his thumbs tracing the line of my cheekbones. "That's all. Three hours, and then it's over."
"I know," I whispered back, the words feeling hollow.
