I said sleepily. He was right, I felt weak and slightly sick that my eye lid started to get heavy. At once I felt a strange cold breeze blow past that made me shiver and open my already closed eyes a little bit. I caught sight of a pale looking slim man wearing a blue tight fitted tee shirt over black leather jeans and brown jacket to my right. He was standing far far away from the group so he was obviously not a part of us, he was looking down all along but as he lifted his head, I saw a his eyes turn deep red before he disappeared completely leaving me shivering against Lucas's body.

Its shape was faint, almost blending into the darkness. Its fiery red eyes stared directly at her. Meredith's heart was beating fast. She wanted to run, but her body felt heavy. The shadow moved closer. A subtle swishing sound could be heard, like breath blowing too close to her ear. A pitch-black hand reached out towards her. Meredith jerked back, but before she could do anything, something invisible hit her hard. It was dark. Meanwhile, Raven who had just stepped out of the room walked slowly towards the library, wanting to pick up the book she had left behind.

Her Pov: I don't know how long I was in that darkness luring around. No dreams, no nightmare, but only darkness. But this darkness is somehow familiar to me. I want to hide in it and never come out of it. I just want to bury myself deep within the darkness. I don't have the energy to fight with this darkness anymore. I could feel someone touching me. A very light feather like touch, but his touch alone dragged me out of the darkness. The darkness I have been caged in for a long time..

Her breathing was heavy and in panic when his lips touched the back of her neck. "Don't make me show you how low I can step to defeat you!" He whispered darkly in her ear as his hand caressed her bare back. The touch had set his body on fire, the spark which no woman has given him yet. Mira didn't open her eyes and stayed silent, knowing any wrong word from her mouth can turn against her. Damon turned around her around beneath him. Her body was small under him, he was easily covering her. "Open your fucking eyes and look at me!"

Old, witch-begotten. My hands trembled as I pulled it free. It was heavier than I expected, and colder too—as if it had a life of its own. Lucifer let out a low, menacing laugh, the sound reverberating in the room like the thunder before a storm. "You were never meant to be like them, Lucian. You have always been mine, whether you accept it or not. The darkness will always call to you. Remember, you tortured them and killed them most cruelly. How can you say you're not like me? Remember Lucas and Ben...?" Lucian's heart raced against his chest. A sudden surge of energy coursed through him as if the shadows were trying to drag him into their depths, pulling him away from everything he knew. He felt his strength waver, the force of the shadows overwhelming him, and his heart grew darker.

Each book in the Queen Among series meticulously weaves into each other and overlaps, so those moments will not make sense if read out of order. One could tell it was dangerous. Suddenly two shadows emerged from the dark five steps from where she stood. She step back watching the two shadows cautiously. "No!" One of the shadows cried. Its voice covered with fear. The other shadow took out something that looks like a gun and pointed it at the other one. "This is my parting gift for you." The shadow whispered before pulling the trigger. A loud bang echoed in the whole place, taking away the stillness of the night.
