Our warriors had come and were chasing after the rogues. I moved quickly to check on her. I wish I knew her name. She was unconscious on the floor, but I could hear her heart. I turned her over, and I swear I wanted to kill Gunner all over again. Her beautiful face was bruising. I wanted to carry her, but I was plastered in rogues blood. Another warrior offered to carry her when he was passing me a pair of pants, but my eyes flashed. There was no way Cobalt was letting anyone else carry her. Another warrior gave me a bottle of water to clean some of the blood on my body, and only then I lifted her from the floor in my arms.

Roman POV I got an urgent mind link from my warriors to get to my brother Reign’s home, my pulse hammering in my chest as I raced there. I contacted by mind link my oldest brother, Hamza, and a few trusted warriors to meet me there. Calling on my wolf, I pushed through the terrain as fast as I could, grabbing only a t-shirt and joggers, which I tied around my neck to change into later. Every second mattered. Every second was a chance to prevent more suffering.

ALAANA POV I stood in the field where the warriors were. My heart was beating loudly, drowning out the sound of drums. I had been waiting impatiently for me to see William since the day they went to the battlefield. When the first line of fighters appeared, cheers rose. Their weapons shattered, their spears raised, their clothes stained with sweat and dirt and blood, but they marched with their heads held high. They were home. They were heroes. My lump was in my throat. I ignored the pain I had felt on my knees as my leg hit the rocks and trees as I was busy, looking around with hopeful eyes. I knew every warrior by name, even those I had never spoken to. But only the warrior's face mattered

“You and your companions are taking things too slow... ” Wow! He's answering my thoughts. My companions? How many are they? It's kind of better to keep my mouth shut and let him answer my thoughts if he wants to. “... especially you Katrienair. Give your heart the chance to be trained into a warrior. ” A warrior? By heart or might? I thought. “The heart of a warrior determines his might. Give your heart. You have a lot of battles ahead of you, even now. Your destiny depends on them. ”

“You’ve shown great improvement today. You have the potential to become a great warrior.” Aiel beamed with pride at the compliment. “Thank you, Reina. I’ve learned my lesson and I promise I’ll never gossip again.” Reina nodded, her expression softening. “I believe you, Aiel. But remember, being a warrior means more than just physical strength. It also means being honourable and honest. You must always uphold the values of our people.” Aiel nodded, taking in Reina’s words. She knew that being a true warrior meant more than just physical strength, and she was determined to live up to those ideals.

He grabbed the warrior's arm, twisted it behind his back, and then delivered a brutal kick to the man's spine. The warrior fell to the ground, paralyzed from the waist down. The last warrior, seeing his comrades defeated so easily, tried to flee. Blaze was on him in an instant, his hand plunging into the man's chest. He ripped out the warrior's heart, holding it for a moment before tossing it aside. The courtyard fell silent, the only sound was the ragged breathing of the terrified onlookers. Blood pooled on the ground, a testament to Blaze's lethal efficiency. He stood amidst the carnage, unscathed and unperturbed, his gaze cold and emotionless.

“Our lands have been plagued by unknown creatures from unknown locations. They’ve destroyed packs, they’ve destroyed families and as your Alpha, I said no more! We shall defeat one enemy at a time. We shall strike on the RedClaw pack for daring to kidnap one of our own.” Growls. I raised my voice, letting my rage shimmer. “No more hiding. No more silence. No more waiting. And no more pleading.” I felt my eyes burn crimson, watching the warriors hail, each rising higher with every word I said. “We are the FireHeart Pack— born of ash, reborn in fire, and we do not bow!” The wind picked up, carrying my words over the lands. I saw mother giving a nod of approval, and this seemed to enlighten me

Rather, it seemed to even twist them further. "Alpha Jayden, you are the pride our land in all seasons," Thorne, the eloquent voice of our warriors began to say. " I see truth in your eyes, yes I do. But not in your heart, my lord." My heart skipped. "Why?" " Because I cannot see the heart! " Others nodded in approval, his words so true and real to them. And that was all. He didn't say a word again till the end of the gathering. Then one of the warriors suddenly spat against the stone floor.

Flameheart stated firmly, “and when the time comes, I will lead the charge. We will reclaim our world from the darkness.” The room erupted in agreement, voices rising in unity as they prepared for the fight of their lives. Each warrior understood the stakes, the lives that depended on their success, and the love that fueled their resolve. They were not just fighting for their own survival; they were fighting for the future of their kind and the humans who had chosen to stand with them.
