Soon, he found a notably larger room in the middle of the corridor, with a single bed at its center. There was a person on the bed. Although Mackay couldn't see the patient’s face, he knew it was Adrian. Without hesitation, he pushed open the door and stealthily entered the room, gripping the Golden Baboon Blade Damon had given him.

He took her arm and dragged her out of the library, only stopping at the door to look back at me. "You, if I ever see your fucking self with her again, trust me your body will never remain the same." He threatened, walking out with Emily. Where the hell was the librarian all this while? My memory flashed back to the hard slap Emily received from Adam. And I couldn't do anything about it. I felt so small and powerless. But I knew I had to do something about Adam before it got too late. I saw that Emily had left her geology notebook, and wondered how I would get it back to her because I couldn't risk Adam knowing.

Turns out it’s a table that’s usually tucked away during parties. “Woah,” he throws up his hands, trying to defend himself. “What the fuck, dude?” “I’m giving you one chance to come the fuck clean.” “Ethan,” Jordan tries to intervene, but I grip Adam’s shirt and slam him against the table again. Other Gammas come rushing in when they hear the commotion, but they pause when they see me, knowing Adam and I are friends—were friends. Fuck if I know our relationship now. Adam holds up a palm, telling them to stay back. Not that they would intervene anyway. They might be brothers, but all of that is fucked because my last name is McKay.

I asked. "What I'm saying is that there may be things he needs to know and would like you to discover. Who's the author of the book?" "It's written by Bryan McKey. But he told me he's an old senile man. I don't even know if he's still alive," I replied. "Okay, we'll think about it later..." He remained calm for a few seconds and sighed. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing... it just seems far-fetched to me."

I take it quickly, closing my laptop. “I will take a look this afternoon, and let you all know what I find out,” I say to the three men. Adam shares briefly what the book is, and they look at me expectantly. “I promise, once I find anything useful, I will share the information with you,” I say reiterating my promise.

“I find it great to mingle with people beneath me. It helps me to remember where I came from.” Okay, was this supposed to be a compliment or what? The man bowed slightly and Adam just tapped his shoulder briefly, before walking to where I stood. “Mr…?” He addressed Gab. “Gabriel Macaulay,” Gab provided with a grin. “Would you be so kind as to check if there's water in that dispenser at the cockpit?” Adam said to Gab. Gab bowed. “Absolutely, sir.” What was Adam up to? It was obvious to me that he just wanted to get Gab to leave for reasons I'll find out soon enough. Because what type of flimsy errand was that? I rolled my eyes internally. There's always water in the dispenser.

Adam scrolled down, his eyes scanning the titles, until they fell upon a book titled "Wolves and Their Subclasses." A surge of excitement coursed through him, and he couldn't help but hope that he had finally found the right place to uncover the mysteries of the Tyrex wolf. Gathering his resolve, Adam hastily made plans to visit Domino's Shop of Myths and Legends, eager to quench his thirst for knowledge once and for all.

He got there a lot faster than I expected. "Hey Adam," I said, "How's the pack doing?" He smiled and said, "It's going well. They're learning how to deal with a fair Alpha, instead of a tyrant." I said, "I'm so glad you aren't following in your dad's footsteps". He said, "I've been leaning a lot on Damien for advice. He's been a huge help." I said, "You couldn't have a better mentor. But I may be a bit biased." He started laughing. Adam said, "After we're done here, can I talk to both of you?" Damien and I looked at each other and said, "Sure". Then we all walked into the dungeon.
