Asher. He’s standing tall, easy to spot among the guards who hover close to the open safe room door. Even now, his shirt is neatly tucked into his suit pants, though his sleeves are pushed back slightly, and his collar is undone. His hair’s a little messy, probably from running. But somehow, he still looks calm. Strong. “Am I the last?” I ask, dragging my robe on properly as I walk toward him. His eyes flick to mine. “No,” he says. “Elise is still out there. So is Marcy.”

He eyed me curiously and grinned. "You've never been with another?" I glanced at him, rising to his feet and shook my head. I explained that I desired no one else and he smiled. "We are true pofa then. I only desire you as well Zax," he mumbled softly and I chuckled and gave him a sweet kiss. I told him to follow me. I wanted him to see all the refugees in the mound. I headed to the mess hall so he could eat and get his weight back to normal. We entered the room and Ashr's eyes widened at the number of people who were residing within the relatively small mound. There were families and children as well.

Ash hums, “Must be, the first time it was a thin blonde waif, the second a tall black woman. And then you, although they were all you?” Ash runs his hands through his hair, in confusion and frustration. “If we had accepted the waif, would she have been spared all the pain of this life? Did we screw up?” Sol comes over to them.

He seems nervous, as he regards me, his hands trembling ever so slightly. "You're in the immortal lands, in my home. My name is Aspen, Alpha Asher's brother," he explains. I'm shocked into silence for a long second. From what I remember about Alpha Asher, he has the same cut jawline and sloping cheekbones. There eyes are marginally different; as is their hair. Aspen's hair is slightly less disheveled and a soft, wood brown. "Immortal lands," I say slowly, giving my mind time to process that. "Are you immortal?"

I couldn't help but smile sheepishly. I jumped in jubilation as I watched Asher walk toward me. He was truly a warrior, a man whom I'd grown to love. As Asher walked closer to me, I heard a loud bang. A gunshot from far into the woods. Another batch of warriors was coming to fight us. Leading them was Christopher's mother, Anabel. Asher stumbled to the ground. He wasn't dead, but weak... Pain consumed me, the pain of losing him, the fear of being alone again. I tried to scream, but something else rushed through me... powerful and hungry, fueled by my anger and pain.

He did not believe that they had been bent against their own will so easily. That was just a stupid reason. What of those who escaped? Why weren't they bent even after going through hellish torture? Actually, Ashton did not care about whether the ash band pack survived or not. He was now slowly building his new pack, what he wanted to do upon returning to the ash band pack, was just to teach a few people a lesson. But of course, there were still innocent women and children, whom he would not allow them facing the wrath of some psychopaths who did not care about the lives of people.
