The next second, a white flash nuked my vision and forced my eyes shut. When I opened them again, my living room had straight-up rage quit and turned into a blood-red wasteland. "Okay, what the hell?" I squinted and spotted my six-foot-two husband, Adrian Chase, already doing the whole protective-dad thing with one arm around our son.

even if I knew I was safe here in my room. So once again.. I drifted off into a very disturbing sleep. Where I was overcome with nightmares. Nightmares about Garrett attacking me and Alan being upset with me .. and now.. Nightmares about being completely and utterly alone. Just a terrifying dream. Relief washed over her, so intense it took her breath away. She pulled Rain into a crushing hug, burying her face in her daughter's soft hair.
