Taking advantage of the distraction, I seized the moment and made a dash for freedom. I raced through the open terrain, my adrenaline fueling my every stride. The urgency of my escape propelled me forward, and I didn't spare a second to catch my breath. When I was sure the coast was clear, I dashed out of the door and ran to the exit. "Hey, stop. Stop running!!!" One of the nurses who attended to me yelled across the hall and I increased my pace. I paid no attention to anyone who called me as I ran out of the hospital and called a cab. "Police station," I said to the driver as I entered it. I had to file a complaint and find my children. I opened my bag and rummaged through my things to find my phone. I took it out and called my roommate. It rang for a while before she picked up the call. "Bailey, where are you and where's the car?” she asked with a harsh tone.

The music switches to the next track, Beyonce ‘All the Single Ladies,’ as I smile, enjoying the beat as my feet hit the ground. The smell of the damp earth and wilted leaves greets me as I run a little faster. Sometime I think I will run so fast I’ll fly. I don’t even look where I’m going, having done this route so often. Like a fucking pussy. Speaking of running… My feet inched backwards, ready to sprint as fast as I possibly could through these woods. As though he could read my mind, he said, “Don’t. I may be injured, but I will catch you. Just save yourself the stress and listen to me.” My head shook with a mix of disgust and disbelief. “I must have some shitty ass luck. How is it that every time I try to run, I end up in even more shit than I was before?”

LINXARA'S POV I ran as fast as I could, trying to get out of this huge place. I kept running like my life depended on it, but it felt like no matter how fast I ran, I was running in circles. Like running from a point and coming back to that same point again.

I have no idea where I am going but I run.
