She struggled in agony but couldn't pry his hand away or make him budge in the slightest. Her consciousness grew weaker and weaker. Suddenly, her body felt light, and she fell to the ground. Before she lost consciousness, she seemed to hear Piercy's voice. It was so faint that it was almost inaudible. In fact, it was so soft that she wondered if it was just her imagination.

I hear his voice. "She was. I guess she went back to sleep as she was in heavy medication," he says. "Can you leave me alone?" She asks. My body gets more than just active and conscious when I hear that. What does he want to do with a person who is asleep? I hear the sound of door closing. God damn! Will he—” “I don’t know, okay?” Reese snapped, exhausted. “We'll just have to find out if he wakes up. In the meantime, make sure you're always around him. Just stay with him. Talk to him. That might help. Sometimes, comatose patients can hear you when you speak to them.” “I will,” I whispered. “I'll do that.”
