By now, we’ve all had more than a few drinks, and we’re halfway between tipsy and passed out. “Let’s tell scary stories,” Laura, one of my friends, suggests. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Kara asks. “These woods are spooky at night. I have to be able to sleep, you know.” “Maybe we should call one of those hunky forest rangers for you,” I suggest with a laugh. “He’d better bring a friend,” Laura says. “Or twelve,” Diana, another friend of mine, adds. We all laugh, and Laura starts in on the first story about night walkers, ghostly figures who march through the forest.

Quickly finishing the remaining wild berries, she fell asleep on the damp mattress without even taking off her shoes. In a few days, Ilyana explored most of the city. The girl walked around the counters, engaged in small talk and asked the residents of Witch Mountain about everything interesting and unusual. The servant learned that last full moon the city was shrouded in thick fog, and residents heard heartbreaking female screams all night. No one dared to get up and check what was going on. But everyone spoke with one voice - a great evil was committed on the “cursed peak”.

Another said they had heard strange noises coming from the nearby woods. Sophia decided to investigate the woods, despite the danger of encountering the werewolf. She knew that time was of the essence, and that she needed to find clues before they were lost. As she entered the woods, she felt a sense of foreboding. The trees loomed over her like giants, casting long shadows across the forest floor. The only sounds were the rustling of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl. We all stand to run when we hear, "Hello."

"It's been a whirlwind few weeks." "I bet it has! Well, I'm sort of calling to make things more complicated, but in a good way." I stand, walk to the windows, and sip my coffee. "Complicated? I'm not sure I like the sound of that." "Good way! I promise." She laughs, light and bright. "Okay, so here's the deal. There's a climbing company called Appalachian Peaks—" "I know them," I say automatically, looking over my shoulder. "I'm staring at a pair of their shoes right now."

I don’t dare trust anyone enough. We drive for hours, the vast luscious green scenery becoming cold and grey as we start to head up into the mountains. I can feel goosebumps scatter across my body and my teeth start to chatter as the temperature plummets in the vehicle. “Here.” The monster reaches his hand out, holding a brown fur cover. My immediate reaction is to flinch away, thinking that this was it…that he was finally going to kill me and dump my body down the steep roadside.

The driver looked through the rearview mirror at the rolling mountain range completely swallowed by the black canopy of night, his voice betraying unmistakable fear: "Miss, I really cannot go any farther. There are often wild animals around here at night. If my car breaks down, there would not even be anyone to rescue us." Amelia did not press him. She simply nodded lightly, her fingers gripping the phone that had never once responded, her knuckles pale. She pushed open the car door, and the mountain wind of the deep night surged in instantly, carrying the damp, chilling cold unique to dense forests, mixed with the stench of soil and rotting leaves, crashing hard against her slender body.

I was pacing around our small living area, feeling antsy. It was now 9 pm and my mother will be home by 10 if she had an overtime like this. What I was afraid is that she needs to walk by herself because I'm pretty sure that all the villagers were already went home. The mountain path was dark and scary. It was said to be the time where supernatural creatures tends to wander and lure anyone they see. But that's not what I'm afraid of, it's the fact that such place was a perfect spot to hide and to fulfill some dark intentions. Murder and torture.. I shakes my head to erase the gruesome thoughts.
